There will be more of this in college football where boosters give millions to players will demand their player play.

Lmao the melts have been funny af, that’s a lot of locked threads all over the forums, they are taking this worse than LSU did Daniels on their home board

No matter who started this season at QB, and both Card and Ewers will take a lot of snaps this year, it was always going to be a disaster. Our o-line is terrible and our very talented true freshmen linemen need time to get adjusted to college. The drama about our starter was created to drive traffic to message board pay-sites.

With Texas joining the SEC in the future, hopefully people will stop taking anything seriously that is said or tweeted by Chip Brown or Geoff Ketchum. Year after year after year after year they claim to have valuable sources yet they are constantly wrong.

Why did the SID seemingly shoehorn this announcement in at the end of player remarks? How bizarre is that?

I haven't seen a single melt about it. I don't know anybody that reads Orangebloods though, except for my Aggie friends. I get Ketch updates like every 30 minutes from them...I forgot how fricking obsessed y'all were with us. Also Ketch lost any sources he had like a decade ago and will do anything to drive clicks, thanks for keeping his fatass alive.

Based on this now seven page thread about the topic, I'm sure you all think there should have been some sort of press conference or other such type of fanfare, but it would seem this decision was a much bigger deal to all of you than it was to everyone else. I can't say if having the SID pass along the info is bizarre or not, because I've never followed another team's QB battle as closely as all of you followed the one at Texas.

On 247, and you guys are taking this way too serious, it’s like LSU with Brennen vs Daniels, there have been Calzada vs Finley threads poking fun of Auburn, we have had King vs Max threads bc we might have an LSU transfer start, you guys get a thread about your QB and take it too personal, when we get our QB, we already know there will be 10 threads full of LSU and horn lol enjoy it

Usually the coach announces the starting QB. Not some pencil pushing geek from the Athletic department. Obviously, Sarkisian had no say in the matter.

Well generally the naming of a starting QB - which has been a battle all camp - comes with a little more fanfare than an oh by the way moment from the freaking SID. I guess Texas just does things differently, who knows.

After Horns first embarrasing loss, Card will be named QB1.

So looks like week 3 after Horns get shellacked by Bama
