Never.
Dumb idea to even suggest.
Went to lesion field for 25 years and now been going to campus stadiums ever since.
It's so much better now.
The birmingham city leadership is too stupid to succeed at anything.
Pipe dream.

Both schools invested in big stadiums to host big games.
Recruiting has limits off campus.
I like college football on campus.

Problem with Birmingham, is the city would want to build the stadium and get the tax revenue and everything from it. Where Legion Field is located is an absolute shite-hole. You would need to be issued a gun leaving the stadium, just to even the odds when walking back to your car. There are a few areas around Birmingham that would work, but the problem is the arse-hats that run the county/city government want it in the middle of downtown. They have done a lot in the past 10 years to revitalize downtown/uptown area, but I still "pack" every where I go downtown.
No, keep it at the collective schools for home and home.

No way.
1) it was a 40/40 split with Bham authorities having 20% and most of those tickets were Bama tickets.
2) would hurt season ticket sales at BOTH campuses
3) would hurt the student experience
4) kick 6

There are more AU fans in the Birmingham metro than any other city in the world.
Incorrect. Atlanta takes that spot.

That's just stupid. There are more AU fans in the Birmingham metro than any other city in the world. Period.
Incorrect.
Atlanta probably has about 4-5x the amount of Auburn fans as Birmingham, AL.

I have been to the Iron Bowl in all 3 stadiums and I like home and home better than the shite hole of Birmingham.

You can say the same about Alabama.

You'll have to wait until Pat Dye's dead. HE was the one who forced the move to start with.

Birmingham has zero need for an 80,000 seat stadium (outside of a pro soccer team in about 40 years when the rest of Central America has moved up here) and I don't think it would ever get passed with public funding.

I really like the home and home series. I vote no. Besides, Bham was never a neutral field.

Let’s play this at Mercedes Binz. We both recruit Atl heavily, and it gives a warm up to the SEC Champ game.

I never went to a game in bham. But if it's like every other neutral site game everywhere, the issue had nothing to do with Auburn not buying their share.
I highly suspect the issue is that there was a pool of tickets, like every neutral site game, that goes to corporate entities, stakeholders, government, etc. Those tickets likely broke heavy for Alabama, and AU fans never had a shot at them, skewing the "split" balance.

I like home and home but a nuetral site game at the new Mercedes Dome would be better than any Birmingham game.
