Florida fans love to start fights with opposing fans in away venues. Saw one get hit in the head with a cowbell back in the day (2009 season I believe). Trashiest fan base I’ve seen come through Starkville. Didn’t really have any bad away experiences, myself, though. Have been to Bama, LSU, Auburn, OM in the West. Bama and LSU fans were annoying but decent enough. Auburn fans were the best. OM fans blow as we all know, but it’s expected.

Honestly, I have nothing bad to say here. Almost got into fights with State fans a couple of times, but we said no fight unless you mfers put down those damn cowbells and fight like real men, they wouldn’t do it so it was stand off. (We may have had a flag pole with a brass point one time )

And that can make the Oxford trip be either a fricking blast, or a constant "look over your shoulder" type of trip.

Alabama vs FSU 2007 (in Jacksonville). Horrible game, FSU fans were complete trash.

We stayed at a hotel in Lake City the night before. It was Alabama, Auburn, Florida and FSU fans. (Auburn was playing Florida at the Swamp same weekend). The AU and UF fans told us they were rooting for BAMA. We lost and Auburn hit a walk off FG to beat Urbs and Tebow.

Other than that, no real bad experiences with SEC fans. If I run into AU fans, we just smile and laugh at each other.

Went to an Alabana/Ole Miss game a few years ago.

I was banging a few chicks from Oxford at the time so I figured I’d go see them, visit some old buddies, then catch the game while I was in town.

So I’m at the game and about midway through the 2nd quarter I go to get a bite to eat.

As I am eating my food I see this group of 20-30 enormously fat Gumps picking on a group of disabled kids! I immediately step in to stop their hateful ways

They didn’t like that. They started screaming and crying and trying to attack the children!

So there we were, surrounded by 50+ of the ugliest sons of bitches you’ve ever seen. I had to act…

I look around and ask them one simple question:

“Are you feeling… Wild?”

They gasp and stumble backwards. It was at that point that I began to beat the shite out of every gump I saw.

When the dust settled I had knocked out 47 Gumps, the rest ran away crying. True story.

Based on this story from a Clemson fan many years ago, Gamecock fans are the worst.

I was at the game this Saturday with my wife and infant daughter (yes, I brought my infant daughter to the game, because I don't know any better.) While walking to the stadium, we had rocks thrown at us and beer/liquor tossed on us as well. They called my baby a "stupid little tater #####." I just held up my bible, I bring it everywhere, and kept walking. Once in the stadium, we found our seats amongst the coots in the upper deck. They were very loud and intoxicated. They called my wife a slut and threw drinks on all of us. One coot gagged himself in order to throw up all over my family. After we threw the interception, some stupid coot took my baby and threw her off the upper deck. Now I have no baby.. and we lost.. terrible weekend. But at least I still have way more class than the COOTS!!!

Just so you know, Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in Louisiana as well.

Every time to Baton Rouge has always been awful but 2008 had to top it. Had parked over by the Lake and was walking by the old Ag Center and a guy stopped me in Bama gear and he said it's as bad as he's ever seen it and he was leaving.

So we are walking getting closer to the stadium and everybody is in our face yelling Tiger Bait or Ramma jamma go to hell Alabama I mean right up on us (its me and my wife) and one idiot decides to throw a drink at us but it hit her mostly. I stopped and said hey man, we're not gonna do this and he was like, what you gonna do, what you gonna do. My wife starts crying and two LSU fans stop us and say hey, enjoy your time here, we shouldn't act like we do and we apologize for these guys.
We then walk by a tent and a guy, late 20's says why don't you take your bitch back to Alabama with you. I asked my wife if she wanted to leave and she says no but she was never going back. We haven't to this day as I promised her.
It was a great win though and walking back to the car I just told her to stay close beside me and we got the hell out of that place. On I 10 we got about to Grammercy and noticed everybody around us was Bama fans staying in New Orleans as well so we were safe.

One group that was surprisingly shite was OSU fans. Not as nasty and vile as LSU fans but real jackasses nonetheless.

Early 2000s...

Three UGA fans are walking to Sanford Stadium across the Tate Center parking lot. One of the guys collapsed from a heart attack. One of the other guys fished the tickets from dude's pocket as the EMTs were working him.

They tell a responding officer how to get in touch with dude's wife and then they walked on into the stadium.

I would probably want my bros to make the game and not go the ER with me, but that's me.

LSU fans can be aggressive, but I've never felt unsafe or as if I was going to be assaulted or anything. State fans too, but that's understood cuz it's the Egg Bowl.

State fans were real arse-holes in 2009.

I've been to Baton Rouge 3 times, 2008, 2012, and 2018, and have never had a terrible experience. The most aggressive fan I've encountered there was in 2008, this kid with down syndrome that was at the tailgate we were at, and he kept yelling Tiger Bait pretty ferociously at me. I thought that was pretty awesome though.

I was with my brother in law in 2018 in Baton Rouge, and my LSU friend who had our tickets(he was hooking us up, good guy, posts here) was pretty hammered, and him and his group went into the game without giving us our tickets and couldn't figure out how to meet us at the gate we were at.

So my brother in law went up to one of the kids working the gate and tried to negotiate a deal to just let us in. He told us to walk about 10 feet away to this tree and pull out our phones like we are pulling up our tickets, and then walk back to his gate, and act like we are showing him our tickets, and he'd let us in for free. Not sure why he did that for two Alabama fans, but he's the man in my book.

after the 2007 Iron Bowl, a huge commercial sized toilet paper roll flew across the air an smacked my then girlfriend in the head. She was ok.

After the 2007 UGA @ Bama game a female dawg fan got up into my face and barked very loudly as I was passing her on the sidewalk.

Pre-season thread: Let's share Bad or POS Opposing fans stories
I'm going back to 2005 with mine.

LSU at Bama. Bama is undefeated and hosting a one-loss LSU team for control of the West.

Leaving Bryant-Denny, the entire walk through the concourse we were serenaded by the Gumps with "Go Katrina!"

(Your OP got 14 'downvotes', as if it never happened. LOLOLOL. Gee what a surprise.....)

We were there that weekend also in '05, but we saw and heard something different.
We were walking across their crampus when we heard and saw some bizarre animal sounds coming out of adult males inside a cage with hot dogs in their mouths. Something about 'corn dooooooagsssss' wooooo-heeee.'
We just stopped and stared..

Of course all we heard was Katrina the whole weekend too.

That weekend cemented my disdain for those Things, to this day and probably forever....

Dear UGA fans,
Let me first say that this is 100% honest, and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I genuinely hope that UGA and /r/CFB fans don’t get upset about the contents of this “letter,” as it is intended to be a genuine request for those fans who frequent /r/cfb, and who I know to be – for the most part – class acts. Please – PLEASE – read this, and correct these wrongs when you see them happen in Athens. I know /r/cfb regulars enjoy posts about how fanbases are good hosts, but this is sadly not one of those posts. The experience we (my group of friends) had in Athens this weekend was – in a word – awful. Not because of the game, but because of the way we were treated. I am asking UGA fans to remedy this as best they can in future games.

First, it’s important to detail what actually happened. Let’s start with Friday night. We decided to go to a few bars in Athens, because Athens is certainly known for its bar scene. Note that for the most part we were dressed in neutral colors, although one of us had on an Auburn ball cap and a girl had on a blue scarf with orange trim. Before we entered the first bar we were boo’d. Okay, whatever, it’s a rivalry. But then it got taken too far. By the end of the night, I had two drinks thrown at me (and not by anyone I had talked to). The guy in the ball cap had a glass beer bottle thrown in his direction, and later realized he was bleeding. We were spat at (literally) and cussed out. Two of the girls were in tears, and one (the one with the scarf) was genuinely scared she would be assaulted. She got rid of the scarf because she was scared it was making her a target. It’s in some dumpster downtown now. We called it an early night and got the hell out of dodge.

So, Saturday. Okay, gametime. Maybe those were just drunks last night, and we had some bad luck. Who knows. Nope. Spat at. CONSTANTLY. I did NOT understand why grown men were literally spitting at me on a regular basis. It was insane. I lost count at 20. I had more drinks thrown at me (although this time it was soda, as we were in the stadium). Luckily I had a waterproof hood on my jacket, so that stayed up the rest of the game. Cussed out again. Leaving the stadium the guys in our group surrounded the girls, at their request, because they did not feel safe (and we left early, both because of the way the game was going and the way the fans were treating us). I was hit upside the back of my head a couple times walking out. I should mention that the girls were being called extremely vulgar things almost the entire game, as well as the night before.

Out of genuine fear for our own safety and well-being, we did not go out that night, but instead stayed at our host’s place.

Based on stories I have heard today from other Auburn fans who visited, similar experiences occurred. Spitting on Auburn fans was apparently extremely common, especially the girls. Being screamed at and cussed out were commonplace.

Based on my experiences this weekend, I know Athens is a town I would never take a family to, if I were a father. I know that the only way I would brave it again is if I were in a group composed entirely of adult males, and even then I would not enjoy it – and that is NOT a reaction I should have to visiting another college.

Please, UGA fans on here. Fix this. Visiting fans should not be scared of your town. I know Athens to be a beautiful place, and an excellent city with great attractions. I have been there outside of football, and I loved it. Please, please try to make it more welcoming to the visiting team.
Sincerely,
A concerned Auburn fan

I was expecting by now to have heard about an Auburn hat that got burned. Is Omegaman still with us?
