So is this what it looks like when Texas goes into panic mode? Because that's what this feels like.

I don't know about the rest of you but the way I see it Dodds and Mack are doing a fine job in Austin. Like Dodds said, winning too much is bad for the program. They got the world right where they want it.

On a serious note.. why anyone here (outside any sip lurkers) would want anyone at tu fired is beyond me. The dumpster fire they've created is literally awe-inspiring.

Don't get me wrong. I want them fired...just not yet.

I want their entire empire in complete and total ruins around them so that their legacy is that they burned it to the ground. Then...and only then...do I want them fired so that the new AD and coach can assume their rightful place as our bitch.

No, all Perry has control over is the Board of Regents.

Who hire the... presidents (among other personnel). So like I was saying, they all technically work for Rick Perry. You and I both know the regents for both systems do his bidding, otherwise they do not get reappointed and lose all favor with his office.

I gotcha my bad. We Mizzou folk are pretty constantly on guard for random drive by slams these days, sorry for mistaking that for one of them.

Conditioned from years of being in the Big 12 too. I have to say, this is one of the things I've liked about being in the SEC. It's ok if the drive by slams come from within the conference but when the drive by slam comes from outside the conference, the wagons are circled.

For those saying he wanted to make the comment about A&M but couldn't...You're absolutely right. You know y'all are in his head, he just had to go to the next one on his list.

The current state of Texas football program is a direct reflection of the UT alumni....soft.

Florida would never allow itself to become geezer U.

“We’re going to have good years again,” Dodds told the Austin American-Statesman. “Our bad years are not that bad. Take a school like Missouri. Our bad years are better than their good years. But we’ve created a standard.”
Ouch. The Longhorns' men's and women's athletic directors -- Dodds and Chris Plonsky -- addressed the recent issues in the athletic department with the paper, but Dodds' unnecessary (and inaccurate) shot is sure to gain some traction. When was the last time Missouri was happy about a year with five or eight wins like Texas had in 2010 and 2011?

Douchebag Dodds reminds me of Douchebag Dabo ... wonder if they do not have some of the same douchebag genes somewhere in their bloodline?

One ironic thing is Dodds is actually correct in his evaluation of Mack. He realizes that simply firing him creates more problems than it solves and is a risky proposition. When you set the expectation that 10 wins can get you fired, even when you have a crystal football, it's a lot easier to find someone to fall short of the mark than to achieve it.

I don't worry about what I wish for Texas or not in regards to their President or AD. They are going to do whatever the hell they want to as always and don't care what anyone else thinks. If there was ever an "Emperor has no clothes" situation it is Texas and until they do some serious self evaluation and give their entire AD an enema they are just digging the hole deeper.

For the first time ever Texas is actually at a competitive disadvantage in several ways and they are locked in with fewer options than ever. They can blather all they want about other conferences or independence but the reality is they are stuck both by their GoR and the fact that whatever move they make affects 3 other Texas Universities which are reliant on them.

If anything they should be playing nice with A&M so that if they decide they want to make a move we won't stand in the way politically but they are simply too arrogant and short sighted to even see it. Texas could "do what they wanted" in the past because they had A&M playing along and effectively "bought off". We always were taken care of first so we played along for most of our history while slowly transforming our school. That's why our break is so significant. In the past Texas had carte blanche because A&M was willing to go along so long as we were taken care of. If A&M and Texas stood together the rest of the schools in Texas had to bend over and take it. Now we not only don't need them we are actually more powerful than they are where it counts. We don't even have to do the dirty work, we can just stand on the sidelines while the other schools nip at them and make their life hell.

Texas is very, very foolish not to be trying to make peace with A&M. At some point they are going to need us and we may just tell them to EAD. If nothing else the price of buying us off keeps getting higher and higher.

Sometimes I will look on YouTube just to see if Spurrier and Dabo have said anything new about each other.

that was the most pathetic attempt at a "shot" i have ever read. the Texas AD needs to step up his game....I am sure if he contacts Spurrier, he could get lessons on the right way to take "shots" at other teams.
