Here's my question. If you're going to pick one school to talk shite about, why would you pick a school that: Held you to 5 points in football Swept you in basketball and won your conference tournament Eliminated you from the conference tournament and won the conference tournament in baseball, ENSURING THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE REGIONALS

Texas would actually be a whole lot less infuriating and much more tolerable if they would get rid of the man who brought the nation this institutionalized arrogance. "We're Texas" and "We're the Jones" is not the best approach to winning friends and influencing people. Thus, the shitty situation Texas finds itself in right now.

Rid the school of the institutionalized arrogance and the guy who caused it, deloss dodds, and I would probably pull for the longhorns, but it will take a while. A decade of the current marginalized shite will do wonders.

MU is so far in Dodds head, he should be charging some of that SEC money they will be getting, as rent.

MU took the fight to the bully, and didn't back down, and even wiped it in his face at the end.

See that's the thing though: Missouri owned Texas in just about every way you could own another team in just about every sport in their final year in the Big 12.

Could you honestly say that the 2012 Longhorns would go 8-4 with Missouri's schedule last year?

SE Louisiana - WIN
Georgia -
Arizona State - tossup
at South Carolina -
at UCF - WIN
Vanderbilt - LOSS
Alabama -
Kentucky - WIN
at Florida - LOSS
at Tennessee - LOSS
Syracuse - LOSS
at Texas A&M -

It's just DeLoss being DeLoss. They were winning about four games a season at the time that the Big 12 was coming together and still dictating terms to Nebraska. A bully will always be a bully if no one ever calls him on his shite.

Oh wait, we did!

He'll be gone before the end of the school year (IMO) - but that's not soon enough for me.

Our bad years are better than their good years
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taking Mr. Dodds up quite literally on that claim though, well we played with them in the same conference so there's nowhere to hide. The claim would be that Mizzou's "good" year in which we went 12-2 and finished in the Top 5 was somehow worse than Texas' "bad year" in which it went 5-7, again with same schedule of conference opponents. OK, good luck with that Deloss.

Also, of interest for you Aggies - I work in Texas politics in Austin, and one of my clients had a long conversation with John Sharp, the A&M Chancellor, in which he said he spoke with UT's President, Bill Powers, urging him to cut the crap and let the Longhorns and Aggies play again. Powers replied that he didn't mind but "didn't think Deloss Dodds wants to do that yet." Sharp asked him "well you're the damn President, does he work for you or do you work for him?" Powers didn't have an answer.

Texas has won 6, count it 6 more games than Missouri in the past 7 seasons. That'd be an even closer number if we didn't have the toughest schedule last year and got to play ISU, Tech and kU

Nah dude the 12-2 was referring to our 2007 record of 12-2 since that would fit Deloss's "their best year" category.

I would have never agreed with you in the past, but it finally seems like Dodds reign might be coming an end. This quote is not going to make the fanbase happy

"If you win all the time, it's not good for the coaches or the kids. You've got to learn to appreciate it."

Is there anything greater in this world than the over-inflated sense of self worth that is the university of texas?

Now you kinda understand the level of toxicity of our previous arrangement.

As they all technically work for Rick Perry, we'll play again when he tells them to.

(frick rick perry)

No, all Perry has control over is the Board of Regents.

You really think that John Sharp, a political adversary of Rick Perry for almost 20 years, works for him?

Perry's conflict with Powers is over the tuition hike nonsense and the hoarding of their share of the PUF.

He was talking about Texas going 5-7 last year

Their "worst year" was 5-7, not 6-6. (Actually, their worst year in the Big 12 was 4-7, not 5-7)

Here's a very simple way of looking at this:

A&M - President Loftin moves A&M into the SEC. AD Bill Byrne objects...Bill Byrne "retires".

A&M (2002) - President Gates takes over. Wally Groff, having been the AD for over 20 years, announces he will resign...not retire...RESIGN...at the end of the CALENDAR year.

Now compare that to the Powers/Dodds relationship.

Dodds is a dead man walking as is Powers. Is there any other school out there during re-alignment that let their AD lead the charge and not the President? Powers is such a fool. They are also idiots to keep playing this childish smack talk game with A&M. We are FAR more powerful than they are in the Leg and RP is about to appoint 3 more Regents to their Board next year (he's already appointed everyone sitting on it).

Texas has some very real and very serious problems and they should worry about addressing them instead of throwing out childish taunts at other schools. The biggest problem with Dodds and Powers is they both put their egos ahead of the interests of the school and neither gives the slightest care about their obligation to the People of the State of Texas. That's what happens when you have a President from Berkeley and an AD from KState.
