I was in Navy boot right out of High School and graduated Boot, but had an issue that failed me on the physical part - ended up with a discharge. have family members telling me i need to apply for VA benefits, but I never served and have integrity to not do something like that.

to me someone doing something like that is a slap to the face of people that actually served and needs the benefits - like my Dad and FIL who both served in the Navy.

I wasn't criticizing the kid by any stretch - I was ok with him getting picked and thought he would be good - I am about as non critical of him and the pick as you can get.

i think this is largely stupid - but at some point, a company cannot offer the same canned apology every year they frick up on the holiday shite.

they know how rabid some of these frickwaffles get about the holiday cups and shite they release, and they always release short and apologize and how it "exceeded" expectations.

I work int he banking world, and we are adopting similar in our software.

the fricked up thing, is of all the Fed areas that ship and accept money from FI's, only 2 will accept pennies returned, and that will not be for much longer. once they refuse to take them, there is no real clear cut idea on what to do with them at that point - guidance from the Fed has not been clear.
