The "sins" LSU has committed are that it has moved to the right. The governor absolutely led that. He hired a new president. And, DEI was systematically stripped from University policy.
The Tennessee President is in fact a hysterical liberal woman and all of this "Political Influence" talk is referencing everything I am talking about.

It just depends on how far the SEC takes this vendetta. There are no benefits if the conference is truly aligned against you. You literally can't win.

I could see where other schools would be nervous about the outspoken political involvement of the Louisiana governor in a world where state legal processes actually have an impact on roster construction, especially given Louisiana’s historical reputation. Fair or (likely) not.
I am not aware of any other states where there is such interaction between the state and a single football program.

If that includes all the judges, that worry would be pretty reasonable, competitively.
Georgia would never have that kind of lockstep commitment, for example.
