Gonzales, Louisiana-Ascension Parish

Eddie Lacy, Eric Reid, Landon Collins

Glenn Dorsey

Even though he didn't play in the SEC, he was a very successful MLB pitcher and so i thought it would be interesting to post:
Ben Sheets

Thomasville Ga:

Bobo.

A number whose names probably only 40+ year old posters will recognize: William Andrews Auburn/Falcons, Eric Curry Bama/Bucs, Guy McIntyre UGA/49ers, Chad Brown Ole Miss/Somebody (not the famous Chad B), Shedrick Wilson LSU/somebody for a short while.

A good many solid contributors at UGA whose names mostly dawg posters only would recognize (Drew, Alphonso Ellis, Mike Jones).

OT: lot more famous ACC players, largely in part to Tally being 36 miles down the road.

non-sec I know we had Major Applewhite and Warrick Dunn

Leonard Scott (UT) played at Zachary the same time Major and Travis Minor were at CHS. Kendrick Shanklin, also a CHS kid, played for UK.

I could fill out a full NFL roster of Pro Bowl players that the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area has produced if you want to count all conferences.

Here's a list of just Miami-Dade County.

100 Greatest HS Players - Miami-Dade County

As an Bama fan you might find it interesting that Mike Shula made the list.....but Barry Krauss, Amari Cooper and Derrick Thomas DID NOT!!

My hometown is very small. We have produced several D1 players. Most famous is Champ Bailey.

Meh Boss Bailey was just OK then I guess.
You also had some stout Florida Gators in the 90s/ early 2000s but I've drawn a blank.

Champ ran for 396 on my wife's high school team where my son later played - in 1 half.

We may know each other. I graduated with Tyler and Lane. Bill wasn't but a year or two behind us.

You got a few years on me I graduated in 2006. Speaking of Tyler, I moved to pelham from out of state in 1997; Tyler's Sr. year if I'm not mistaken. My dad and I had read over the summer that the high school had a star QB and wanted to go see him play. That year the first game we went to was against hoover. Pelham won and has not best hoover to this day. Go panthers!

Well you've always got Jadeveon Clowney.

Bruce Ellington
Brandon Wilds
Dylan Thompson
Alshon Jeffery

I'm sure there are more I'm missing, but these were a few who popped in my head.

The only SEC player I can think of from my high school is Justin Dunning, Safety TAMU. But Luke Shivers from TCU and Patrick Mahomes from Texas Tech are others.

Smith County, TX has produced a ton, but few from my high school.

Grew up between Cleveland and Drew, Mississippi and went to school in both towns.

Archie Manning- sister was my teacher.

Floyd Womack and Ken Lucas from little Cleveland played on the Seahawks at the same time.

Giants pitcher Kevin Rogers was a friend of my brother and would throw in our front yard.

The Shoals area of Alabama covers a pretty big but pretty sparsely populated area, but these are some of the players from the area:

Pierre and Kerry Goode
Antonio Langham
Chucky Mullins
Ozzie Newsome
Jason Allen
The Tiffins
Phil Gargis
Dennis Homan
Patrick Hape

Florence High School has more former players on SEC rosters this season than any other high school in the state.

Huntsville Metro Area:

Kenneth Darby
Donnie Humphrey
David Johnson
Christopher Martin
Glenn Moore
Ricky Moore
Ramzee Robinson
James Willis
Wes Neighbors

The one that got away: Phillip Rivers, Athens High, Athens, AL. Auburn and Bama both wanted him to convert to tight end so he went to NC St. so he could continue to play QB.
