re: Dunking Hoop on Sideline

UGA had a star receiver injure himself for the season years ago on a celebration jumping up. I don’t want our players getting injured dunking basketball goals.

Larry please run onto the field this season

This is actually a brilliant idea. I’m sure when you do the math owning a single digit jersey forever at a program like LSU would be worth tens of millions. The value would probably fund an entire roster for a year at minimum.

I wouldn’t call a guy that comes to practice every day and puts in the work 0* effort. Maybe 2-3* effort, but 0* is unfair.

10 years ago UGA wasn’t even relevant in the grand scheme of things.

The one I’m talking about decided to go to UNC like a week ago out of nowhere. Right when Schmidt decided not to sign.

Pretty sure he’s replacing the guy that went to UNC instead.
re: Has your interest in college / LSU football changed with the NIL/Portal era?

College Football: non existent almost. I watched maybe 5 plays of the championship. And maybe a half of football of the entire playoffs. I used to watch every big matchup every weekend, but the matchups are watered down and meaningless almost. No rivalries anymore etc.
LSU Football: extremely less. I used to be obsessed. I’d be mad a day or two later after a loss. Followed recruiting all year. Now I follow on occasion. Losses even for championship teams are meaningless now.
If they expand to 24 teams my interest will be non existent completely for CFB. I’ll watch LSU for the most part, but my interest levels will be almost as a casual fan.

re: Can someone who understands ball better than me explain Perkins shift from Freshman yr on?

Them playing two different positions has nothing to do with the fact that Perkins is bigger, faster, and stronger in every metric but still can’t get off a block or get past guys like Mathieu could. IQ and heart are a big factor in sports.

I’m going to give you the brutal honest answer. IQ. He’s not very bright at all.
People will say he was undersized to rush, to get off block, etc. He’s far bigger and more athletic than a guy like Tyrann Mathieu but Mathieu could do it so why couldn’t he? Because he lacked the IQ and the heart.

re: Jay Johnson is 74-64 (53.6%) overall in SEC play at LSU

I love LSU baseball but nowhere near as much as I love football. So this is coming from an “outsider” perspective in a sense. Jay is a more competent and better overall version of Coach O. He’s going to have huge mistakes and misses, but his work ethic is going to always rebound him. Skenes is Jay’s Burrow. This past season was getting those guys we got together and forming another great team. The other seasons are signs that he’s not that great of a coach as some on here make him out to be. Work ethic is phenomenal though. I do think he rebounds next season.
If not there will start to be a lot of chatter moving forward.

re: Jay now knows he missed on several of these players

Never got the hype about most of the transfers. They were decent players at best at much lesser schools. Then some of our “stars” have always been very hit or miss both pitching and hitting.

They’re like 20-0 every year then lose over half their games the rest of the way.

Serious question. How do these 3 players compare to some of the best at their position in CFB over the last 5-10 years? Not necessarily from how they’ve played so far, but potential wise.
re: Is Oregon in worse shape at OT than we are?

They’re in much better shape which is why it’s obvious money is the real factor here. But also confusing that they would be in such a bidding war for a one year rental when they’re in much better shape at the position.

You’re getting downvoted like crazy, but if Ole Miss loses last week it’s more likely LSU lands Chambliss and Lacy and maybe a few others.
They’re not getting the top two and it’s TBD if we get any of the others at all.

Most overrated womens basketball player this century. She’s too busy being an online social justice warrior to focus on Basketball.
