Ozzie Newsome

Tried to have a discussion with a younger (35-ish) guy the other day about some of the greatest TE ever and mentioned Ozzie...he looked at me like I just told him the square root of dildo was pancakes and said, WHO?

I just walked away.

Edit: Ashley Lowery and Gary "Curly" Moss are the only D-1 athletes my high school has ever produced to my knowledge, but...AJ Johnson, Sterling Bailey, and a bunch of others are out of Hall County just down the road 30 minutes.

Originally from richland parish. I don't recall any notable players from there, but I moved to jackson during my senior year. Went to school with Anthony Dixon.

The one that got away: Phillip Rivers, Athens High, Athens, AL. Auburn and Bama both wanted him to convert to tight end so he went to NC St. so he could continue to play QB.

Wow! I have never heard that story. He might end up in the NFL Hall of Fame, but college coaches in the neighborhood didn't think he had a future throwing the football. Was Rivers some kind of late bloomer or something?

In 40 years of existence, my high school has produced zero to my knowledge.

Alcoa and Maryville have solid lists, but those are city schools and I'm from the county (Blount, pronounced "blunt").

Harding Academy.

As for my neck of the woods, forgot to add Barrett Jones. ECS, not Briarcrest, but that can't be held against him. Same school that UK's Skal Labissiere went to, but left during his senior year, because his "guardian" is a dipshit.

Was actually from South Carolina and was sent to St Stanislaus.

I haven't been back there in a few years.

Aron White and Logan Gray, from Columbia, played for UGA a few years back. Played a lot of AAU basketball with those guys. Other than that, idk...
