Both are tourist traps and not a real experience. If you want to shop for trinkets and dumb shite, both are right up your alley. If you want a real mountain/hiking/kayaking/outdoors experience there are better places.

There's also more to the Ozarks than Branson. Doesn't change my opinion that Branson/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge are tourist traps.

They definitely are. Which is why most East Tennesseans avoid Sevier County like the plague and stick to the hundreds of miles worth of locals only spots devoid of tourists
