Myles Garrett and Derek Barnett both played college football from 2014-2016. Hard to make an all decade list based on just one season.
I see your point. If they had played 2 seasons like Joe Burrow...that would be a different story.

Even harder to call it a decade when it’s spanning from the middle of a decade to the middle of another decade.

Ja’marr Chase opted out his junior season. Quitting like that really hurt his college career stats
Yet he still got drafted ahead of Smith

Only the final season of Myles Garrett's SEC career falls within our sample period. Otherwise, he would have been an easy selection here.
seems like a cop out. Wish they posted his grades in those 3 seasons (1 which qualifies)

Oh, the 2016-2025 decade! Ah, yes. One of the great decades! The roaring 20s, the crazy 70s, and the 2016-2025.

DeVonta Smith stands head and shoulders above the rest in nearly every category. He ended a 29-year drought of wide receivers winning the Heisman Trophy
Hardly anyone was there to see it.

You guys having half your team quit on you doesn't mean we did.

They could have worded it differently. Something like the “SEC team of the last 10 years”. But seeing as the dictionary definition of a decade is simply 10 consecutive years they are not wrong.
quote:
decade
/ d?'ke?d, 'd?ke?d /
NOUN
1. a period of ten consecutive years.
Example: the three decades from 1776 to 1806.
2. a period of ten years beginning with a year whose last digit is zero.
Example: the decade of the 1980s.
3. a group, set, or series of ten.

It has always surprised me that LSU fans still love Chase even after he told them to frick off.
I wonder how LSU’s 2020 season would have turned out if 7 scholarship players, including multiple starters and their best player, had not opted out.

You're telling me out of Malik Nabors, Justin Jefferson, and Jamar Chase, you're picking Malik Nabors? I love Nabors, but even he would disagree with this pick.
Yeah there's just no way I'm ranking Nabers over Chase AND Jefferson

Thats because you dont know what really happened, and like to make assumptions because you're an assclown.
Chase had a really bad case of covid. On the advice of family they told him to opt out because of it. Then LSU lost to Miss State, he wanted to come back, and was advised by everyone to not come back and go be a top 10 pick and first wr off the board. Which he was.

Devonta Smith is the greatest sec receiver of all time

Are you trying to argue that Chase did not opt out of playing the 2020 season?
He is one of only a handful of first team all-Americans to opt out of the following season. It obviously pisses you off.
You will NOT like this from his wiki page.
quote:
A month before the start of the 2020 season, Chase announced that he was opting out to concentrate on his NFL career. His decision was reportedly not specifically due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, but rather due to agents having convinced him to sit out his third collegiate season so to not get injured. Chase was assured he would be a top draft pick before the season started. NFL rules state a player can not be drafted until three years after leaving high school.

You're clearly melting over a guy who sat out that got drafted over and is the far better wr than Bamas best wr ever

I am simply explaining to you mouth breathers why Chase was not included on this PFF team.
Dude told LSU to go pound rocks and yet you are still white knighting for him.

I am not disputing the why. I am simply pointing out the fact that he skipped the entire year and still got drafted ahead of bamas best wr ever. Thats a fact that has broken you.
