Exactly.

Anything pre-integration is essentially bull shite.

Minnesota has a bunch of titles in the 30s and 40s.

Tennessee and Alabama has always been a rivalry of streaks. I don't know when UT will finally beat Alabama, but BAMA's current streak doesn't cancel 120 years of history.

When I ask they mention FSU, UGA, and UTk as their rivals.

Its:

1. UGA
2. FSU
3. Auburn
4. Miami
5. LSU

MSU has been more relevant in football over the past decade in every single way over UT. The vole may never recover from their 15 year run of mediocrity

And, yet, the program still has infinitely more upside than the castoffs down in Starkville.

Wow, this ridiculous thread really triggered you, huh?

At least you have that nice warm historical record to distract you from the dumpster fire that is present day Tennessee football.

I'm 34 and consider Auburn a rival. I was a wee lad but I remember them ruining our 93 and 94 seasons. And 2001 of course.

The 2002 game is the 2nd best college football I've been to.

Real shame they killed our annual game.

Again, it’s better to be presently awful and historically superb (Tennessee) than presently and historically awful (State).

How is this such a difficult concept to grasp?

But Tennessee's downfall kind of does.

No sane person in 2021 would trade MSU football for Tennessee football.

Man, Alshon Jeffrey. He was just so stinking good during that span. Had almost 200 against Auburn 2 weeks prior to that.

Tennessee had its worst recruiting class in years yet still, as always, finished ahead of State in the recruiting rankings. There's just no comparing the two programs, both historically and contemporarily. One is an all-time power mired in an embarrassingly-long lull, and the other is Mississippi State.

Sounds like you're not an all-time power then.

I won't say they're dumb, but after last season's schedule, I'd say they've outlived their usefulness...
