I always read people here complain about this, but there’s never any real evidence.

MSU v Kentucky is a competitive rivalry, and they hate each other (all 4 Kentucky fans here are obsessed with me).
Ole Miss v Vandy has been competitive up until the last few years.
Tenn fans enjoy getting pounded by Bama
L1U and Florida fans hate each other
Georgia fans and Auburn fans hate each other.
Mizzou and Pig fans hate each other.

No one likes Texas A&M, so they are kind of left out. Can’t win them all.

Based on the above, what exactly is the problem?

Agreed. Go to a 9 game conference schedule and drop the permanent rivals.

This has gone up for vote serval times and it has been voted down 13-1 every damn time. Fans bitch year after year rather than petition their own AD or President they'd rather complain.

The Third Saturday in October has been on CBS five times since then.

Because of Bama. Notre Dame is nationally televised every week.

Agree. Us and South Carolina made no sense. It produced some fun games, but not anything outside a normal SEC Saturday in terms of meaning

Missouri game is meaningless. It's basically non conference

Do we talk about ourselves like we're equals with the Gumps? Lol you people think your program splits that "rivalry" 50/50 from a historical perspective.

Hmmm... Alabama vs. Arkansas, an SEC West matchup, hasn't been on CBS since 2012. Yet each matchup features Alabama, just like the Third Saturday in October!

Care to explain that discrepancy, or is this just another fan of a gutter program trying to spout off?

"Well what about Ole Miss and Vanderbilt?"

"Easy. Bottom feeders, annual matchups. Boom."

Tennessee and Alabama is not a rivalry- the only real ones are LSU/Florida and Georgia/Auburn. Rest of these forced matchups are completely stupid

Are you complaining because Miss St isn't relevant enough to matter in the conversation?

Those rivalries in many cases are the backbone of what built the SEC into what it is today and Miss St has benefited greatly from it due to revenue sharing etc.

I think they are dumb too but I do not want to give up our perma-win over Florida.

We've sucked just like you. They put you on because there are still a few boomers hanging on to that "rivalry". There was probably a trash slate of games on the weeks you were on.

If you were a junior in high school that last time Tennessee won, you would be ~33 years old

If Tennessee doesn't win this year, and they won't, those high school students have going from being too young to join the army, now too old to join the army.

33 (age) - 22 (years since Tennessee's last title in 01/99) = 11

Those are some young juniors in high school.

Yet another reason that LSU deserves to lose accreditation.

Tennessee vs Alabama: this was THE big annual SEC game for most of the conference’s history. Those two teams combine for more conference titles than most of the rest of the teams combined. This series has taken a real beating the last 15 years or so with Tennessee in the toilet and Alabama in dynasty mode

Auburn vs Georgia: deep south’s oldest rivalry featuring two teams that are extremely close geographically and culturally

LSU vs Florida: while not historically all that relevant, this rivalry has produced some of the most fun and memorable games over the past 25 years. So many hard fought games, wacky hijinks, and crazy endings. I would be really sad to not see Florida on the annual schedule.

What kind of idiot are you?

This thread makes sense coming from an MSU fan because no one gives a shite about playing Mississippi State other than Ole Miss.

Question for ya. If it really is a rivalry, so let it be.

When do you really think Tennessee will beat Alabama again?

Another 10 years?

That's 24 losses in a row. That's just not a rivalry.

Maybe Alabamy will let y'all take one in, say, 2026 in a conspiracy to get TV ratings up.
