I like ours. Having our cross-division game as an annual cupcake game frees up an extra OOC slot for an extra big time opponant.

Which is a very strong argument for doing away with them...

Thanks for helping my case.

I pissed off a lot of people insulting the grand old 3rd Saturday in Oct., but I don't give a frick. That game's been interesting maybe twice in the last 15 years. 2009 and 2015. Rest of them have not even been close...

It is pointless to keep these matchups annual:

Texas A&M vs S. Carolina
Kentucky vs State
Vandy vs Ole Miss
Missouri vs Arkansas

^ Don't look at that and tell me that needs to remain as is.

ADs are the ones that hire coaches. I know you probably didnt go to Bama and went to the local CC down the street but ADs are very important.

He has hired Muss and Pittman.

I dont think we will be great under Pittman but I think he can get us to winning 8 games a year in the next two years and the occasional chance to be 9-10 win team. Our basketball program that our new AD hired the coach will be strong for a while.

Talking trash to State isnt hard. They helped give us out first SEC win after three awful football hires.

Like I said. Mullen aint walking through that door.

After the worst 5-7 year stretch in program history we still lead the series over State and Pittman is currently 1-0 vs them.

Disagree. I like a nice beach weekend every other year, and if I can pair it with an enjoyable easy win in football so much the better. And South Carolina girls look good on those beaches.

One pet peeve I have about this matchup. Geographically, these two teams are the farthest apart in the SEC. This makes the travel between the two school a little bit more difficult for them. It's a disadvantage for both schools.

Whatever mizzou fan.

My shitty mid major alma mater doesn’t have a losing record vs your sec program.

Your program is amateur. That’s why you’re touting one victory over your superior.

In summary, you’re almost as pathetic as Missouri football.

Cry, you tit.

I tend to agree. Hell I like you baws, I root for State when we aren't playing. Kentucky and State are evenly matched and it's a good competitive matchup, but we aren't rivals. We've got no problems with State.

I happen to think cross division games are great, but there does need to be a 9th conference game. This past season’s 10 game slate was excellent. That may not be feasible each season, but 9 is doable.

The Third Saturday in Oct. is a game of the 20th century.

Then why does it remain more relevant than any series in which State participates?
