I'm not condoning this idiot's behavior, but before the game Pavia was grabbing his nuts towards the student section and supposedly this guy was upset that he did it in front of (his?) kids, which I think is why he responds, "I do whatever the frick I want," and the other guy says, "You talkin' to a fricking kid" (even though Pavia is 37 years old).
Either way, both parties were stupid, but I this is how I understand the context.

I wouldn’t be caught dead in cargo shorts.

The guy wasn't drunk, he was very sober. Pavia (to add to his weekly trash talking) was shooting his mouth off toward the Alabama student section (where this guy and his kid were) cussing at them, grabbing his crotch, etc.
These "kids" we call players are getting paid so they're no longer amateurs, they're professional players. They want the trappings of being an adult so guess what? They're going to get the horns of being an adult as well, as they should. Pavia is a toolbag with the IQ of a pile of mud. His "hero" is meth head Johnny Manziel who ruined more opportunities in three years than most people do their entire lives. But hey, that's Pavia's "hero". So that tells me what type of person Pavia is, he's a douchebag that got his a$$ handed to him in front of god and everybody. He crapped his pants on the big stage after talking all that crap and grabbing his crotch at a college student section.
