and as i keep saying, they wont have 10-20x more talent than everyone but 1 school, which they had in big12

they will have to step up nil game, transfer game, and hope Oklahoma hs kids get better. not 1 in top300. not 1 kid.

I hope they upset someone down the stretch. We want Venables there as as long as possible

Any team can make it in this day and age as long as they have the money and the right coach. OU doesn’t have an SEC problem, they have a Brent Venables problem. He makes horrible roster and game time decisions, he panics when he’s faced with adversity, and quite frankly he’s way in over his head.

Venables is a fantastic coordinator but a terrible HC.

I think they will rebound. Just not the explosive talent on offense they have had historically. That’s said, I hope I’m wrong and they flounder for decades to come but not betting on it.

like the bigger schools, we have big fish donors who get impatient and next thing you know changes come down 'from above'...I just hope we don't go down the Auburn / Florida route of chronic coaching change

This team wouldn't have competed in the B12.

It’s not like you are running out walk-ons on the OL and WR. These kids are on scholarship, they should be able to handle playing in the SEC. The fact that they are not shows that you were not ready to play here and that falls on Venables.

Now if you fire Venables and your next coach can’t handle it either then yes you will be the next Nebraska.

Did you even watch the game? We are absolutely playing walk-ons.

Agree on the Texas pipeline.

But until they figure it out, I am going to enjoy their arse-kickings. It's about damn time.

I forgot about Jacob Jordan but this is year three for Venables and you shouldn’t be at walk ons after five WR injuries.

Also, the fact that you only signed two OL in the past two years and 6 in four years (2 of them transferred) is fricking pathetic. You will never win in this league recruiting like that.

Outside Florida, OU may have the most brutal schedule. Not a good recipe to be mediocre on offense.

OU is 1-4 in conference and still has to play Bama, Missouri, and LSU.

They would be winless in conference if Auburn hadn’t absolutely collapsed.

Oh right, that’s why so many different teams take turns winning the SEC…I’m sure your team has several conference championships since it seems to be so easy…right?
