Common here in St Louis as well.
I think it’s because the private school system (predominantly Catholic and Jesuit) is so extensive. Kind of like asking how much money your family has.
People from outside the area think it’s strange.

It’s not about crime. The governor didn’t request this from the president. It’s the opening act of a contrived civil war in which red states send troops to occupy blue states. Total bullshite and the amount of hair on fire in here if the script was flipped would be enormous.

There was a riot that entered the Capitol as our legislature was transferring power and she (like a goddamn zombie) forcefully clawed herself into a barricaded area. No one wants to see someone shot to death but that was stupid and she paid the bill owed.

Like most economists, the Trump administration is fighting the previous war.
I live just outside of St Louis and the 2021-2022 years for the city were bad. Roving gangs of teens causing trouble, petty and violent crime up, idiots in chargers and motorcycles racing on city streets. You get the idea.
The reality though is that has changed quite a bit the last couple of years. Whatever weird crime mania that happened post COVID has disappated and the city is back to where it was before. Not without crime of course but much better. If only the Cardinals could get their shite together we would be back…
