I am glad we are moving into the sec. unfortunately it won’t be 2022. Schedules were realeased and we are still Big 12 in 2022.

I get it that some of you are apprehensive But just try to look 10 years down the road. The NCAA will be gone . At that point the stronger the conference is the more it affects change....

It's a simple point OU fans are missing. We know you have elite level resources. You're going to go from being 1 of TWO teams in your league with elite resources, to 1 of EIGHT teams at that level. That's the point. All you are bragging about doesn't make you special anymore

Can somebody please point to the evidence of boosters or outsiders not letting Sarkisian do his job? By all accounts, he has complete control of the program, and the people in power are behind him.

I could be wrong but didn't they have a say on who his assistants would be. Didn't they even flat out say no to one of his selections after retaining coaches he didn't request from the previous coaching staff?

Sarkisian answers to Texas boosters - and CDC makes hires without his authorization as well. He didn’t even get to choose his own staff without others checking off on it. He doesn’t remotely have complete control

He’s too weak-willed for that

Like it or not everything is going to super conferences which the playoffs have no choice but expand. In a way it will be like the NFL where the talent equalizes each other out and you will have champs with multiple losses.

I didn’t know this was about resources . I don’t think any Sooners are touting our resources as being a cause for us to dominate any conference let alone the SEc.

We see several teams every year, sometimes twice, that have less resources than us and they do more with less.....

There are only 5 or 6 blue bloods in all of CFB and Oklahoma is one, Texas is NOT one. Right now SEC has one blue blood, Bama. this is partly historical in nature but that is what a program is, it’s history. I think this is a cause of fussiness of current non-Bama sec people. You like to hold yourselves up as better but you can not do so when comparing to a blue blood.....

I REad the initial post by the OP to see his angle. Basically he said the SEC is far tougher . Ask Sark about that . He thought he had a decent r team based on his Bama experience . But playing a 9 game Big 12 round robin he came away with 6 losses.

Meh, the team wasn't really that good, and for a couple of guys on the team, it was their third head coach and they were just over it once they lost for a second time.

Outside of the top 3 teams, the Big 12 was not very good this year. It's never near as bad as some on this site want to paint it (especially the fanbases of former Big 12 teams that had a losing record in said conference over the last 10 years), but it's not near as elite as the SEC is top-to-bottom

The Big12 pre-2010 was a much tougher conference

I’m not overly impressed by Baylor. Ok State had the best overall team in the Big12 in 2013 and we beat them by 10

Mizzou has a better win percentage and more overall wins (we’re like at 700 now) than either program despite consistently playing in tougher conferences over our history than BU or OSU

No one is talking about Arkansas.

We are talking about how you are last place in every sport in this conference
