have you Seen him throw?
PP laughs at the need for other mortals to throw, and take the attention away from himself.

So you think PP will make eight or more straight pro bowls, be considered the best cover corner in the NFL for about six years running, and be a first ballet hall of famer?
He will be very very good in the NFL. Maybe not a HoFer, but he will be very good. At the worst he will be the same level as Terrence Newman or Asante Samuel. I think he will get overshadowed by Revis for most of his career though.

his pro success is largely dependent on what type of system he's in...no different than any other corner

Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete in SEC football history... no question.
Bo Jackson may have very well been the most gifted athlete in the history of man.
And I am not kidding or trying to exagerate.

I for one DO NOT want to see PP on offense. It's not skill positions we are missing. We have an abundance of that.
I agree with this. LSU has enough playmakers on offense to get the job done. Don't know exactly what the problem is (other than JJ), but skill positions on offense is not something LSU lacks.

No, he really is special. Not Bo special, or at least that remains to be seen, but there are NFL scouts that think he could be the best corner prospect ever and that includes Deion.
He's not even the best SEC DB of the last 5 years.

Javier Arenas?
He had more punt returns for touchdowns and had an INT in both the SEC championship and national title game.

Eric Berry for sure was better defensively. Arenas is probably the best return guy I've seen in the SEC.

PP is really good but he is far from special.
Uh no, he's certifiably special.

I don't know where PP ranks in the history of athletes in the SEC. But this is for sure. He would have played a lot as a freshmen on any team in this league and would be a starter today. Is he a Bo Jackson? Prolly not, but damn who has ever been, cept Bo?
And the Adams > PP thread. Well there ain't a coach in this league that wouldn't trade his best WR for PP.

Are you seriously comparing the two corners here? Or just saying one of your players was a more explosive return man?

Yeah. I agree with that robotsanta.
He will be the number 1 corner as a rookie, IMO, but never be anything spectacular.

quote:It is hard enough to compare two players who played the same position in about the same time frame (who was better, Bo or Herschel; Caddy or Dmac?). It is damn near impossible to compare two players who played different positions in different times. Bo was great, but if you put him as a return man or DB in this LSU defense he would possibly look like he belongs in Div 3. If you put PP in the AU backfield in the early 80s he woudl get some yards, but he wouldn't be a Heisman candidate. Bo was a power runner - big, strong and when he got free, fast. PP is a superstar DB - great speed, great hands and a hell of a vertical leap. It's like apples and oranges.

But for the sake of this thread:
WMFC > Bo > PP7 > Herschel > Williams/Brown > Dmac > Ingram > Dorsey > Namath.

Yeah, but the question is....did a ranked Auburn team come into BDS and get out with a win during his time there?
Bo never had to lower himself to playing upon the unclean soil of BDS.
