Who would LSU throw the money at to lure?

Muschamp? Peterson? Patterson?

Which big name coach would leap at the LSU job? It might not be as many as you think. Hell, Alabama got snubbed for West Virginia. We offered more money and a better everything. Sometimes, that still isn't enough. Not all the time, though.

See, we're in agreement here hbT. His wins were against an SEC that wasn't that strong.

Still, you can't possibly compare him to Mike Shula.

I wasn't calling for Shula to be fired. Of course the excitement of the search was great, but we nearly ended up without a top tier coach. Without Saban, we would have been fricked. If you're going to go in a different direction, you better make sure you have a coach ready to sign. People do pay attention to the firing of a coach who is 58-16.

Comparing Shula to a coach who's 58-16 is irresponsible, no matter how goofy Miles is.

Content with 9-3? No. But is a new coach going to take LSU back to the top immediately? If he can't, how long before LSU fans say fire him?

I'm sorry that you consider that homerish. But with Les Miles vs. the field, it's hard for me to really take LSU seriously. This isn't the same guy who won countless close games in the beginning.

I won't take away LSU's wins or titles, but the changes around the conference have certainly contributed to LSU's fall from winning the west to complaining about the drought.

ETA: Through my life, LSU has only been relevant since post Saban. I just find it funny how they demand a title. The glory years have you guys spoiled.

Because you act like LSU should be a consistent power. Outside of the Saban/post Saban years at LSU, LSU hasn't been consistent enough for many to view them as an annual power.

I have a serious question. When the time comes for Les Miles to leave Baton Rouge, how will he be able to tell?
