In all seriousness...
Are you saying our coaches DON'T evaluate talent very well? There is a direct relationship with the number of top recruits in the state of SC to the number of SC recruits we sign. I don't see where we're doing anything wrong, other than the simple fact that, every now and then, it's possible to miss one.
There are ZERO big names this year. We went after Terry, but we weren't hurting for him. The other top recruit, Mike Hill, wasn't a blip on our radar after about 2 weeks of looks. We got Turner from Goose Creek and Bryant from Charlotte, and that's about the best we could have done around here.
I cannot agree with any of your assessment. There's nothing wrong with us. We aren't having a down year, the talent in SC is, and we've gone through preventative measures to ensure that we won't see a gap in the next few years.
Anyway, just my $.02. GO COCKS!!

Recruiting is mildly entertaining compared to the class-5 hurricane force drama our fans ooze each year when we talk about a bunch of 18-year-olds wanting to pick a damn school to play for. Why do we, year after year, waste our time drooling over the star-rankings and 40 times of players who may/may not play for us, and instead place our trust in professionally-hired coaches who know WAYYYYY more about these players than we (or any "pundit") do?
Sure, we're going to lose some players. Happens every year, and the coaches plan for that. Sure, we're going to have some busts. Happens every year, and our coaches are prepared for that as well.
South Carolina high schools aren't going to have 5-star, world-beating talent EVERY year like those in, say, Immokalee, FL, and because we aren't a national brand like Alabama, we have to ride the wave. Some years we're recruiting where we're thin, and some years we're chasing the Gilmores, Clowneys, and Lattimores. Our coaches hit the recruiting trail just as hard this year as they did in 2008, and they know best how to navigate it.
Instead of us worrying about why we're losing THIS guy, know and understand why we recruited THAT guy and see where he's going to fit in the overall coach's scheme.
In other words... Shut up, sit down, trust the coaches, and GO COCKS!!!

he problem we are seeing here, is that Carolina is cheap as frick. They will either hire a DL coach who is over the hill and not worth paying too much or get an "up and comer" who is unproven and won't be paid a ton.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

Yep, that's what it looks like to me, too.

Then maybe you should try out to be a Big East official

have been on the Shaw bandwagon since day one, and I will stick to that.
This. Dylan wouldn't have been able to make that 3rd down scramble to extend the next-to-last play to Ace.

Dylan was the hero the other day, but keep in mind that Connor made some outstanding plays to get us down the field and into that position.
Exactly. I'm not taking anything away from Dylan at all. He made his reads, made his throws, and made some of them better than Shaw. He can't, however, extend plays like Shaw.
Having said all that, I do think we will continue to see them both play in games next year, which is great. The more we can throw at a defense, the better. It's great to be a GAMECOCK :pimp: :nana:

Basketball is the one sport where just one player can make a bad team really good.

I agree, although it may take CFM a little longer than OPP simply by not being in the ACC.

Yea, I agree, but it's going to take a long time. I see us being a tourney-caliber team in 3-4 years, maybe longer.
It's hard to sustain anything basketball in the state of SC...
