This thread deserves a bump tonight. On to the semis!
There are ways to neutralize the opposition crowd at our venues:
- Play in locations with lower Hispanic populations (Rust Belt, Pacific NW)
- Make tickets available early to AO and other supporters clubs
- Sell tickets directed to opposition fans in the seats farthest away from the field
Can we at least agree on no more games against Central American teams at Red Bull Arena?
One of the worst stats of this qualification round was losing 2 games at home. The key to the Hex has always been "win at home, draw on the road" and we had not lost at home in a qualifier since 2001 to Honduras. We were 26W-2D-0L in home qualifiers before the loss to Mexico with the only draws coming after we had qualified to the next round.

We need to be smarter about where we play and make an effort to fill larger stadiums. When the cheapest ticket in the house is $40+ and we are playing in a stadium with less than 30,000 seats or tarping-off the upper deck, that means US Soccer is sacrificing a larger crowd for money.

I propose that every home qualifier be in a stadium over 50,000 seats and that all upper deck tickets be sold for $15 and the majority of lower bowl tickets for $25. They could also give away a few thousand seats to nearby college students.

For example, play Mexico in the Horseshoe instead of Columbus Crew stadium. Play Costa Rica in the Vikings stadium with the AC turned all the way up. Panama in Atlanta, Honduras in Seattle, T&T/Jamaica at FedEx Field or the Meadowlands
I'll second the Phoenix. Richmond Arms is another.

Now with how much soccer has grown in America and Canada, those records would be shattered in 2026.

It probably wouldn't break the per-game attendance record because many NFL stadiums are smaller now (ex: Detroit, Chicago). With the extra games in the whole tournament, it would destroy the total attendance record.

Actually, I think the opposite is true. I have some tickets listed on Stubhub right now for below face value that aren't selling. I expect the secondary market to drop a lot in the next few days as people try to offload what they have.

Don't forget Cassius Dwyer, born last September.

Forlan won the European golden boot twice at the club level.
Beyond what has already been said, it's rare to for international teams to keep a coach more than 2 cycles.
The obvious ones are always strikers/AMs:
Bendtner for Denmark vs Arsenal
Jozy for USMNT vs Villareal/Hull
Gio dos Santos for Mexico vs Tottenham

Honorable mention (dropoff for club, but not as big):
Tim Cahill, Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Rodriguez
Is he cap tied? We could naturalize him!
Did anyone watch the game last night? Highway robbery!
The best way to build foot skills is Coerver drills. There are a bunch on Youtube.
Benny Feilhaber is definitely on the list.
I feel like yesterday was a big result. I always like taking points in Frisco.
Can we just play every game at home? :dunno:
Did anyone see what happened with the red card? I didn't see the tackle, but I knew something was up when the ref stopped play despite the clear advantage for the Dynamo.
