OU and Bama are tied with 4 ranked wins . If they value wins vs ranked teams both schools should be safely in .
What about bad losses to unranked teams like FSU? That has to count for something

This 9 game conference season is going to be the death of the SEC. This committee only cares about record.
Going to 9 games puts an end to Alabama dominance.
The SEC will have two elimination weekends next season instead of one.
Meanwhile, this current week, Ohio State is a 32 point favorite over Rutgers.
When was the last time that an SEC team was favored by that much over an in-conference opponent?
Sankey sold off our conference's chances to win a Natty by 17%.

Everyone assumes ND auto bid with 2 losses but the final spot could come down to them and Miaml Personally I think ND is better now but Miami has the head to head . Interesting to see how the committee handles that communication if they pick ND. If Miami wins out they’ll be ranked reasonably close
There is ZERO chance they leave a 2 loss ND out. Especially when they are on a 10 game win streak. ZERO
You can argue that they may not deserve it but it doesn’t matter. 10-2 ND is absolutely in.

If we actually just seeded the top 12 teams without auto-bids, it would fix it.

What if a two loss SEC team loses in the SEC title game and gives them 3 losses.
Not getting in with 3 losses this year, unless ole miss or UGA loses more games.

Don't drink the Kool Aid.
Takes like these are why people can't stand the SEC.
Root for your team, not a conference. Is that really to hard to do?

Won’t make the playoffs because they won’t make the ACC championship game.

To be a real, legit playoff you have to to completely do away with automatic bids. Absolutely no welfare queens or section 8 housing bids should go out. Actual top 12 teams only.

This is more than frustrating. Other SEC teams 10-2 but Vandy has to get 11-1. Right. Special rules ‘cause Vandy. Love the talk during their game with UGA that an 9-3 Texas would get in before us. After the greatest year for us in 100 years. —We still have to win out— With one of the most exciting QBs in the nation. Man, we’ve been cannon fodder forever. and now we do well and get screwed again. I’m old. This will never happen again. All I wanted. Just once.
The real irony is they opened up the CFP for representation from the smaller programs. Vandy is the ULTIMATE little guy. 7300students and laughing stock of college football. and we still can’t get in.
Just wait for the 9 game SEC schedule … more SEC teams will left out. Stupidest decision by the SEC ever.
And they will probably put us in the stupid Music CIty Bowl. Anyway, hope we win out.

No it wouldn't
With a 9 game SEC conference schedule and a conference championship game you are still all beat to hell compared to those teams with cupcake schedules.
SEC fans are in denial about how badly we have been screwed by the Sankey ESPN.

I'm not in denial about that
But it would be the best fix they would ever do.

There’s only 2 scenarios that im looking at:
1) byu beats tech in Arlington and both get in
2) Michigan wins out
If USC wins out i see Oregon getting left out
In no matter what
1. Osu
2. Indy
3. A&M
4. Georgia
Win out and in
5. Texas tech
6. Ole miss
7. Oregon
8. Notre dame
9. Oklahoma
10. ACC champ
11. G5 champ
If Alabama loses the SEC championship and has 3 losses they should be the team left out if: 1) byu beats tech or 2) Michigan wins out beating OSU

The SEC will become known as the conference where coaching careers go to die.

This is the most likely scenario although if Vandy beats the Vols, it would be a travesty.

OU is not in no matter what. They have to win out

Sometimes it looks alright. I wouldn't want to catch TT or ND with how they look now early in the playoff.
Posted on 11/16/25 at 2:02 pm to Whentheleveebreaks
What if Michigan beats Ohio State? Would the committee put them in? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I thought there was no chance that Michigan would beat them last year and they did, and this year it's in Ann Arbor.
