Agreed. We lose to State in two weeks and we're fogging up the windows from outside.
Would be hilarious

What if a two loss SEC team loses in the SEC title game and gives them 3 losses. Do they still get in?
I think they would but if that scenario happens and Bama gets left out, Sankey will lose the SECCG. I just don’t see the SEC allowing that to happen. Too much money involved.

Vanderbilt still had a shot

Maybe so but how do you punish a team for losing their conference championship?
Remember TCU over Bama a few years ago?
People bringing up TCU and SMU seem to have bad memories. Bama already has 2 losses. A loss to A&M or whoever in SEC Championship would be loss number 3. SMU was 11-1 then lost to Clemson on last second field goal = 11-2. TCU was 12-0 and lost to Kansas State = 12-1
You aren’t comparing apples to apples as 10-3 is far different than 11-2 and 12-1. You have to beat who is on your schedule. Bama really messed up losing to an abysmal FSU team. 10-3 isn’t a playoff resume with loss to horrible FSU, Oklahoma and then Aggie. At some point losses have to matter. 3 losses is a bridge too far when you are going to have a bunch of other 11-1 and 10-2 teams one who beat you (Oklahoma)

Oh yeah, we are lucky, sure thing hugh.

SEC should have at least 5 guaranteed spots in playoff.
The fifth-place team in a conference doesn't deserve a playoff spot.

Miami is going to have a very hard time making the playoffs my guy. They’re likely not going to be able to play for the ACC championship since both their losses are in conference and this is assuming they don’t lose again. There’s like three or four 1 loss teams in front of them that play each other still none of which Miami plays. I’m not sure if it’s even really possible. And I don’t think a 10-2 ACC team who couldn’t even make their conference championship is just an automatic in this year.
Everyone assumes ND auto bid with 2 losses but the final spot could come down to them and Miaml Personally I think ND is better now but Miami has the head to head . Interesting to see how the committee handles that communication if they pick ND. If Miami wins out they’ll be ranked reasonably close

Agree. It’s rewarding mediocre football.

GT can make the playoff by winning the ACCCG. Not sure where they stand on that tiebreaker though to get in but a GA loss doesn't affect that.
Yeah, you're right. none of the smaller conferences are any good, so the ACC Champion probably would make it in.
Talk about an awful conference.

This is correct. You, and gator Fever caught me on that. I was thinking a smaller conference would have somebody to outrank them, but....no. Amazing.

I found an article talking about the ACC and it sounds like GT and VA would be in the ACCCG if they were to win their remaining ACC games.

ACC is a mess, likely won’t know the participants for the conference championship game until rivalry week. Reasonable chance there are three 7-1 teams, but somehow ESPN is projecting current 4-2 Miami to win the conference.

Likely more than one, depending on how other conferences play out. I think four is more likely than five spots for the SEC

Not one that's any threat to win it all. So who gives a shite?
These days fans would rather their team just "make" the playoffs than win an actual conference title.

Let’s just shoot straight here — no Group of Five team should be in this year.
If G5 teams want to be in CFP they can schedule accordingly and play their way into the CFP top 12 just like everybody else.
This automatic qualifier spot is BS because it knocks a deserving team out.

Miami
Very likely won’t make the ACC championship game and are even more unlikely to get in as an at-large

I’ve been waiting for this scenario. Interesting to see if a team basically locked into the playoff gets eliminated because they had to play that extra game.

Would be a great way to get teams to opt out of conference championship games. Conferences and media would never let that happen
