Yall had a great team last year. You will have just as good of a team this year... probably better. I don't understand the desire by some Bama fans to talk crap about their own team.

I mean, we did have a great team. We also had some weaknesses that were masked throughout the year and exploited against Oklahoma and Clemson. It's not talking shite about them to be realistic about areas of the team that weren't good enough.

Damien Harris ain't one of those, though.

How was he a weakness? He was a workhorse. He also just got paid $3.6 million by the Patriots.

OP knows something that Bill Belichick doesn't about him.

It was because of him (and Saban's seniority policy)

Yeah this policy was the reason Jalen started over Tua

Agreed. I am not lumping you in that group or saying you shouldn't discuss the problems. Some Bama fans seem to be forgetting that it was a fantastic team that Saban built last year.

In some of the previous games against Bama I felt like Clemson's D left some plays on the field that they normally make (OJ Howard running free, busts from our safeties, our best CB goes down). Outside of one bad play by our safety we played a flawless game on D and had three NFL lineman harassing Tua. Venables changed up his scheme and was brilliant that game. He went away from his tendency to play pure man and attack and did a lot more of bend but don't break.

Make no mistake about it... the overall talent between QB, RB, OL, TE and WR last year was probably the most complete and talented unit Clemson has ever faced. Outside of TE your offense might be even better this year.

Edit: This is straight from Venables...

If we had run the offenses that we ran with Ingram and Richardson, you'd be talking about Damien Harris like he was a god.

I doubt that Georgia will agree with that.

Still say it was the OL. Against good DL , Tua had to run for his life and became a little gun shy. And the secondary had its moments.

To hell with the OP for making me agree with Irons. The OL was inconsistent and I don’t care how good a passer you are, when you’re getting hit you are not going to be effective. Lawrence didn’t get touched all game. Tua ran for his life from about LSU on.

This would be correct.

So which is it? Can we discuss the issues we had or not?

OP is a fricking moron. Damien Harris was never the issue and he was a very quality RB. A good OL should make any RB look good so it wasn't his fault either way you slice it.

Have a down vote!!! Savion Smith and some subpar ILB play by a 5th rounder might be better suited for your dumbass post!!! Might want to add subpar punting and kicking as well.

But you gained Sarkisian............

I'd say you lost a steady RB and gained an abysmal coordinator
