This post will be controversial for Alabama fans, but I'm so glad Damien Harris is gone. He was a subpar third round HB who got wayyy too many carries over the years. It was because of him (and Saban's seniority policy) that Josh Jacobs rode the bench most of last year. It's because of him that Najee Harris has ridden pine the last two years.

Damien is officially gone, and guess what? Alabama has nothing but monstrous badasses at HB again. Alabama hasn't had a dominant back since Derrick Henry.

Najee Harris, Brian Robinson, and Trey Sanders are about to tear the SEC up. Bama's running game is back folks.

Just don’t fall behind and you should be good.

Damien starting over Jacobs last year had more to do with Tua than yards per carry. He was the best at pass protection.

You do realize that the best "runners" do not always start at the college or NFL level?

Pass protection the ability to understand the difference between picking up a blitz vs rolling into the flat is the reason you see very few 3 down backs.

He was one of the biggest weaknesses we had huh? Not the shitty LB play, shitty secondary, shitty play calling? It was Damien Harris who touched the ball 10 times a game?

I agree, D Harris was good, but not elite.

Still say it was the OL. Against good DL , Tua had to run for his life and became a little gun shy. And the secondary had its moments.

How was he a weakness? He was a workhorse. He also just got paid $3.6 million by the Patriots.

Kid sacrificed for the team and came back for his senior season. 1000 yard rusher the prior two seasons, and despite Bama passing more, almost had another.

yeah, Saban played Harris because he cared more about seniority than winning. So many things rb's have to do other than just run the ball, such as picking up blitzes and being able to block, read and understand defenses, and receiving. Clearly, Saban doesn't understand football nearly to the level of some of our fans.

"This Bama team is probably the greatest team of all time, and will be the first team in modern history to go 15-0. They have blown out everybody."

-Bama fans and national media

"We suck"

-Bama fans

Yall had a great team last year. You will have just as good of a team this year... probably better. I don't understand the desire by some Bama fans to talk crap about their own team.
