This graphic just typifies why many of us believe that A&M is using NIL illegally to entice recruits to College Station. Maybe we're wrong? But there seems to be a lot of smoke and Jimbo Fisher's rant against these accusations make you look all the more guilty of major recruiting violations in regards to NIL.

Burden of proof and all that, but this all looks very fishy.

It’s pretty clear, and I don’t know why the A&M staff doesn’t just own it. It would be an even better recruiting pitch.

“We’re very fortunate here to have a tremendous amount of local support for our players, and they have benefited from the opportunity to represent local businesses. Several players in this class made decisions to take advantage of those opportunities to promote their name, image, and likeness - which is their right to do.”

Or whatever.

Instead it’s been a whole lot of “NO YOU!!1!” - which is silly.

And its not just the 5 stars, it's also the fact that they pulled 5 stars from all over the country right from under the nose of Georgia, Bama, and LSU.

There was a highly rated DL from Georgia, committed to Georgia, who flipped to Texas A&M on ESD, of all places.

A top rated DL from Tennessee went to A&M, stolen right out from Bama and Georgia's backyard.

Shemar Stewart, right in Miami in Fort Lauderdale, who reportedly received big offers from both A&M and Miami, ended up at A&M halfway across the country.

A&M has NEVER had a national recruiting base and in fact only a select few teams in the last 25 years ever did and that was USC under Pete Carroll and Bama under Saban. Both programs that had won national championships and conference championships multiple times before that national reach even happened.

A&M hadn't won anything since 1998.

In the end, they all play the same game just A&M was ready to play it better this time. Jimbo better be careful not to piss too many people off or they'll band together to take him down. He got greedy this time.

I mean I thought it was obvious that A&M was only using NIL Money to recruit....it isn't abiut the program or how much you can develope or how many players they have put in the NFL, and it certainly isnt about winning games championships. My only hope is that they fulfill those promises to recruits because if they dont....oh boy will it be a shite show in faggyland

The reason is simple - he doesn't want to admit he couldn't do it on his own.

So essentially your entire argument is A&M isn't supposed to recruit this well because you don't think we should be able to. Forget all of things Aggie fans have been talking about for years here in regards to resources, facilities, largest stadium in the SEC, largest school in the SEC, having a NC winning coach that has consistently recruiting at an elite level his entire career, multiple assistant coaches that are elite national recruiters, winning the Orange Bowl and finishing #4, beating Bama last year. On and on and on.

Nope, the only reason it can possibly be is paying players and that A&M doesn't deserve to recruit well.

I talked to the guys who run the 12th Man Foundation after we joined the SEC. You know what they did when we joined? They went to every SEC school and looked at what they did. They formed a plan to build a superior stadium, facilities, environment, and everything else necessary to win. Then they have gone about making that happen over the last 10 years. Now you can dismiss all of that if you want but acting like A&M suddenly turned everything around simply is ignoring reality. This didn't happen overnight, it's been years of investment and in a hell of a lot more than NIL.

Tell you what though. If you want to keep thinking A&M just paid players then that's fine (or course assuming that not only is A&M paying players but paying the far more than everyone else). I mean I can't argue if your entire point is A&M shouldn't be able to recruit well because you don't think we should be worthy. I guess you are all screwed then because we have more money than everyone else and we are getting richer by the day. So if all that matters is money you might as well bow to your new overlords.

Are you think of the DB, MKG? He flipped because he wanted to EE and start rehabbing his knee. We didn’t have the space for him to come in early so he flipped.

Player from Georgia was a DB, and the Dawg poster above has it right.

A&M has recruited the state of Tennessee since Jimbo has been at A&M, this isn't something new.

A&M has also recruited Miami since Jimbo has been here, and have had 4-star recruits from Miami in the past three classes straight.

Maybe do a little research next time, frenchie

There are no doubt teams with the most money will be competing for titles. A&M tremendous pipeline of alumni willing to donate and raise money to put the program on top is in place. The NIL concept has simply allowed the richer teams to separate themselves with facilities and NIL contracts.

It's here and complaining daily will not change things

If they are throwing NIL money at recruits as speculated, if they are obeying the rules then give them credit

News for everyone, college sports has been headed this direction for decades, teams spending the most money on facilities and coaching staffs have been winning titles

Jimbo's outburst is about ego and nothing more. The last thing he wants is to have anything pointing away from him in the outside chance that he can do something with this impressive, yet unproven class.

The fact is, he is not going to be able to fight the argument that this class was bought. He should absolutely embrace it as every top program will match the tactic going forward.
