So many false statements in that, so let me unpack.

quote:

There was a highly rated DL from Georgia, committed to Georgia, who flipped to Texas A&M on ESD, of all places

I'm going assume you mean Defensive Back not defensive lineman Marquis Groves-Killebrew.

quote:

A top rated DL from Tennessee went to A&M, stolen right out from Bama and Georgia's backyard.

A&M has had a pipeline into Tennessee since 2016

2016: Tyrel Dotson (Buffalo Bills)
2016: Ikenna Okeke
2019: Chris Russell
2020: Dallas Walker

Also, you are grossly underestimating the work that Bobby Taylor (2022 signee) put into recruiting this class. He basically went out and started relationships with multiple highly rated players after signing with A&M and convinced them to come visit during the Alabama game.

Depending on how well Walter Nolan does it may guarantee his brother, 2025 OL Warren Nolan, signs with A&M as well.

quote:

Shemar Stewart, right in Miami in Fort Lauderdale, who reportedly received big offers from both A&M and Miami, ended up at A&M halfway across the country.

This is one of the more ignorant takes. Let me just list the players from Miami alone who will be on the 2022 roster:

2020 DL Donell Harris
2021 RB Amari Daniels
2021 WR Yulkeith Brown
2022 DL Shemar Stewart

Jimbo already had multiple Florida pipelines from his time at Florida State and, including the four players already mentioned above, signed 8 from Florida since taking over at A&M.

quote:

A&M has NEVER had a national recruiting base

bullshite. Two starters on the 2021 team are from Pennsylvania (Andre White from Harrisburg and Tyreek Chappell from Philadelphia), four total from that area. Four players are from New Jersey on the current roster. Under R.C. Slocum, A&M frequently pulled highly rated players from California (Sirr Parker), Louisiana (Bucky Richardson), Washington (Daeshon Hall), Arizona (Christian Kirk) and other states. NFL Great Muhsin Muhammad's son signed with A&M in 2020 and he might start next year.

Texas A&M's alumni association (Association of Former Students) is probably the largest in the world. The 2012 season got everyone's attention and Johnny Manziel became a household name.

So essentially your entire argument is A&M isn't supposed to recruit this well because you don't think we should be able to. Forget all of things Aggie fans have been talking about for years here in regards to resources, facilities, largest stadium in the SEC, largest school in the SEC, having a NC winning coach that has consistently recruiting at an elite level his entire career, multiple assistant coaches that are elite national recruiters, winning the Orange Bowl and finishing #4, beating Bama last year. On and on and on.

Everyone is jealous of the number one recruiting class of all time. Sorry. It shouldn't even be hard to admit.

Without NIL and using “pay-for-play” AM wouldn’t sniff the #1 class.

Shouldn’t be hard to admit, yet Jimbo keeps saying it’s about the 12th man lol.

Whatever the reason, A&M has the number one class. Every fan should want the same for their program. This is causing massive amounts of jealousy. Instead of whining about how Aggie is recruiting up to their potential, why doesn't the rest of the SEC just try and do the same?

Jealousy is a disease.

Wrong

People are pointing out AM went full on 1980 SMU in first year of NIL

That’s why Jimbo melted in his press conference and brought up cheating of other programs in the past.

Not a good look.

Texas has been in the Top 5 recruiting 3 of the last 5 years..,I’m sure all AM fans wouldn’t be calling Texas out if they landed a similar class in first year of NIL.

This is a symptom of the disease. We didn't at all. There was an anomalous amount of talent in the Houston area recruited largely during covid times so proximity played a huge role, we went 9-1 and finished number 4 in the country, and then in the following season capitalized by beating number 1 Bama in the middle of the season. Which is the recruiting window that matters.

If you had even the slightest intelligence and had followed recruiting even a little bit you'd know that how you perform on the field matters for the current juniors in high school. Have you ever followed recruiting?

Which is what's sad and what y'all don't really get. Without NIL, A&M would have done even better. By a lot. The only team that really used NIL to buck the naturally recruiting cycles was A&M's in state rival, getting a few key recruits they had no business getting. The teasips finished waaaaay ahead of where they should have.

I'll say it again. Jealousy is a disease. Go get better.

LMAO, you trying to claim 2020 season is the reason and all the 8-4 seasons were ignored?

Do you actually follow recruiting?

It shouldn’t be hard to acknowledge this was 100% NIL, yet here you are.

Speaking of following recruiting, Texas has done better the last 5 years than AM…if they landed that #1 class in the first year of NIL, you would defending them saying it was hard work by the staff lol

You don't follow recruiting clearly. Jealousy is a disease. I have a feeling you vote Democrat.

Followed up the next year with a skull thumping LSU victory 50 - 7. Could have easily been 80 - 7 had LSU not called off the dogs.

Why worry? It's not like it was brought in by an organization that can do anything with it.

Texas A&M brings enormous financial resources, great facilities, and a large dedicated fanbase. Unfortunately, they always bring themselves. The only thing A&M hates more than the Longhorns is prosperity.

I think you're dismissing the fact that A&m has never been a very appealing program before NIL. The reasons you've mentioned don't have as much of an effect as you're insinuating.
