Pretty sure I've seen him wearing at least a sports coat with opened collar shirt at least once, but I may be mistaken.

He usually coached the A-Day game in a sport coat and open-collar buttondown shirt. Actual games was a polo and slacks.

That's where the image in my mind comes from, clips of the spring game. In any case I don't think how a coach dresses really affects the quality of coaching. If it did then Bill Belicheck wouldn't have won all those Conference championships and Superbowls while wearing a hoody with the sleeves roughly cut off.

I don't think anyone is making the point that wearing a t-shirt to coach a game actually makes him coach worse. I could make the same point at my job - "Hey, it isn't like I'm going work any less hard because I show up in shorts and a t-shirt." - and I'm not going to get much traction because quality of work aside, that's not how the owner wants his company represented. In fact he'd probably think less of me just for having asked. In much the same way, I don't want the man who is going on national TV to represent the University and, by extension, the great state of Alabama treating that responsibility lightly.

If you're supposed to be the boss. Dress like one. It's fricking GameDay not practice

As was stated earlier... No one would care if he had beat Vandy by 50...

He wasn't exactly dressed to to the nines in the Georgia game and we didn't hear any of this stuff.

Know what he looked like to non-Bama fans? A football coach. The game is played outdoors in all sorts of weather (currently hot) and he had on a perfectly nice Nike Bama T-shirt and hat. Of course DeBoer hasn't earned the right to look like he just woke from a 4 day bender, (Belicheck) but he also didn't look like a slob to the casual observer.

Mike Shula was a snappy dresser. Bama is discovering what we all are feeling. Roster that is ever changing, players that are not committed past a year and coaching staffs getting poached and overpaid left and right. Add in a ton of realignment and you just get a game that is changing. If Milroe had left Alabama would be a high mid tier SEC contender. But make no mistake Bama took a step backwards in player and coaching talent, it will show even if the coach wears slacks and a sports coat on the sideline.

Dear Kalen
Go down the hall and visit Oats Coats. Ask for Nate. They will hook you up.

A t shirt on an SEC head coach just isn't a good look.

This is one of the few issues I'm an old man yelling at the clouds.

I wish head coaches would dress respectfully. They are leaders of men and are often the highest paid person for their respected schools. Be a good example of how men should represent themselves.

Coach Saban wore a suit or shirt/tie/sports coat in pre-game while at Bama. I have no idea what he wore prior to that.

That's for the "crazy bammers". I'm good with him....lol. However if we just go with talent....why don't the Yankees and Dodgers win it all every season? There is so much more to a winning team than just talent....
