The SEC (particularly the West) is totally unforgiving, and there are no breathers.
That's an exaggeration. There have been some downright terrible teams in the SEC West recently.

I beg to disagree. Unpredictable. A & M beat Bama. Auburn beat OM. State beat Auburn. OM beat State. Arkansas beat A & M. OM beat Arkansas. LSU beat A & M. Arkansas beat Auburn. LSU beat State. State beat A & M. Without a doubt, the SEC West is the toughest division in the toughest league year after year. I don't know why anyone would bother to deny it.

I never denied the SEC West is tough and the best division in college football. I stated your conclusion that there are no easy games is not true. There were some terrible teams in the division just a few years ago. I understand you may not have been speaking about that time, though.

Lane wont leave the SEC. He loves the action.

The SEC west has been unquestionably the best division in football for awhile now, but to say there are no breathers is simply not true. This year has been a pretty big outlier with the parity we've seen, but most years you'll have 3-4 good teams and 3-4 below average to awful teams. This year has changed a bit and everyone has been much more evenly matched, which is pretty refreshing TBH.

Kiffin not getting snatched up likely means he won’t leave for another school, and is certainly not going back to the NFL. He’s seemingly in the best position to bring in Arch to OM.
It’s going to be a stacked SEC West once again. I could honestly see Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss and (holding my nose) aTm beating each other up, and taking turns winning the West over the next 8-10 years.
This is going to be so much fun. All good for college football.
If the playoff eventually expands to 12, you may be talking about 3 or 4 SEC West teams making it if the stars line up right.

I would agree that if the playoff expands, the SEC will always be a major factor, contributing from 2 to 4 teams every year.

I agree.

2018 - #1 Alabama, #5 Georgia, #10 Florida, #11 LSU
2017 - #3 Georgia, #4 Alabama, #7 Auburn
2016 - #1 Alabama (wow, that's it!)
2015 - #2 Alabama, #12 Ole Miss
2014 - #1 Alabama, #7 Mississippi State, #9 Ole Miss
2013 - #2 Auburn, #3 Alabama, #9 South Carolina
2012 - #2 Alabama, #3 Florida, #7 Georgia, #8 LSU, #9 Texas A&M, #10 South Carolina

Lane inherited a pretty damn good QB at Ole Miss.
I'm not ready to crown him an offensive genius because he managed to beat LSU and A&M this year. Lots of teams did.

I see you left out 2010 & 2011... Just didnt want to include the Hogs, huh...

I stopped at the first season of the last expansion. You know, when the conference first began to look like its current iteration.

Help me to understand. Why do you think it’s laugher to think there might be 4 teams that could challenge in the west? 10 years from now is a long time. Saban is 70. How many more years do you think he stays? Who will replace him and be guaranteed to maintain his high level of excellence? I think most Bammers are going 70 mph on a gravel country road and there’s a “T” intersection coming up fast they don’t even see.

If Notre Dame we’re to call he would be a fool not to go.

I love me some Kiffin but ND wouldn't come close to giving him a call.
He's not the right "fit" for the Gold Domers.
I hope he stays at Ole Miss as my real fear is that he takes the Miami job.

I think Kiffin stays in Mississippi, but I also can’t analyze if U of Miami is just an old goat or if this NIL will wake a sleeping giant.
