Play calling hasn't been great this half. I'm sure Kelly felt like they could and should run the ball better, but going this way allowed USC to adjust late. No trick plays or creative schemes.

Geet used to it. Blake likes to blitz, even if he has physical superiority.

They'll likely puss out. Probably also because they'd rather see the team lose so they can justify calling for the coach's head. Winning gets in the way.

A problem we may have is the run game pulling the LB’s closer to the line. Martínez can complete the passes between the LB’s and the safeties.

4-3-4 man and bring the SS to help with the run and spy the TE or the 3rd receiver. SS basically becomes the 4th LB

Well our base is a 4-2-5, and we've got good speed. Ty'Ron Hopper can pick it up and lay it down. He and Martez Manuel are thumpers. I respect the blocking schemes of K-State and Deuce Vaughan's patience in waiting for lanes to open. Martinez is the weak link for them, but if they can run consistently on us, he won't be exposed.

My question is how will Blake Baker attack it and neutralize their backing schemes?

We have more talent overall than K-State, however, Drink's teams have underperformed a bit on the road.

1: Limit Deuce Vaughan. Turn him into a mere mortal and we win this game. If that means stacking the box most of the time, I can live with that. Utillize the run blitz. Blake Baker needs to call a good defensive game. Vaughan is patient in reading line blocks and cuts back really well in the open field. K-State's line is good at getting him angles holes to run through. They don't need to blow you off the line.

2. Make Adrian Martinez beat you with his arm. Don't let K-State dominate the clock for four quarters with time-consuming drives.

3. With our playmakers, just run the offense and let Burden, Lovett and Peat execute. It would be helpful if Cook hit a couple long pass plays, he needs to make solid assessments on passing and running opportunities.

4. Avoid boneheaded plays. If we play error free, we win. K-State's philosophy
is to slow down the game and goad you into playing stupidly and taking advantage of that. They win this way even with lesser talent.

I think our DC Baker is a keeper. It's entirely possible that we're not a good matchup for K-State if our running defense is legit. I think we win, but this should be a good, close game.

27-20 Mizzou.
So nine touches in a game wouldn't ever cut it?

You do realize that it will be job one for every SEC DC to stop him, don't you? Our offense needs to be multiple. If teams overcommit to stopping Burden, we have to make them pay. That means Lovett, Cooper, the running backs and our quarterback all have to be involved.

First game and he's complaining about this nonsense? That can become a cancer on the team if it's not stopped immediately.

It's amazing how much better the offense looks when Drink doesn't waste 1st down throwing sideways.

Ain't that amazing? Drink needs to hire an OC. Those calls will kill us against good teams.

It's hard to imagine why anybody would be asking about Mizzou.

And yet your handle references a famous movie about a Missouri farmer who joined pro-Confederate Missourian Bloody Bill Anderson to exact revenge on Kansas bushwackers murdering innocent people.

But do carry on.

provel cheese is better than any other cheese. I eat that shite daily by itself every time i head to the fridge.

Provel is a mixture of provolone, cheddar and Swiss cheese and it is delightful. Low melting point, complex flavor and deeply satisfying. Not odd at all.

If the original author of that infographic had researched better he'd have found out that one of the oddest and still regularly eaten foods in St. Louis is the fried brain sandwich. I've never seen it served in any other state. I grew up eating it and it's disgusting and probably unhealthy.

No, I’ve heard from people I trust they just aren’t playing the NIL game like the other powers are.

Oklahoma has had their player pay system in place since the fifties. College football has our NIL system, OU has theirs. :pimp:

I guess we know which one LSU fans are.

You gotta admit, at least LSU went for the splash hire for good or for bad. :pimp:
I think aTm was looking for an out any way they could once Calzada announced he was entering the transfer portal. For a team with as high recruiting rankings as they get, it’s terrible they don’t have any good quarterback depth on that team.

re: Mac Jones Rankings

I don't get the hate toward either QB. Joe Burrow looked the part last year with a less than stellar supporting cast. He could win a Super Bowl one day with the right players around him. This year Mac Jones is executing Bellichick's offense exactly the way Bill wants it, which for a rookie is tremendous. He does it so well they cut the previous starter. There was no doubt. Bill knows what he's doing. NFL analysts who had concerns about Mac Jones no longer do. Burrow is more dynamic thus far, but Mac Jones has been precise and way ahead of the curve in maturity and judgment for a rookie playing for a demanding coach. They both belong. One day we might see them playing against each other in the AFC championship.
You’re joking, right? Do your research. Start with the Wiki page. The information is out there.

Help me to understand. Why do you think it’s laugher to think there might be 4 teams that could challenge in the west? 10 years from now is a long time. Saban is 70. How many more years do you think he stays? Who will replace him and be guaranteed to maintain his high level of excellence? I think most Bammers are going 70 mph on a gravel country road and there’s a “T” intersection coming up fast they don’t even see.

If you get rid of all the cliches, Gus Johnson won’t be employable anywhere. Even his yelling on ordinary plays won’t be enough
"It was legal for a long time to kill Mormons in Missouri, so I'll go with that one. They seem to not like proselytizing."

It wasn't proseletyzing that got Missouri Executive Order 44 declared, but emerged from the legal ability to defend oneself against Mormon violence, murder and thievery. Hatred for Mormons who would take over towns, surrounding even judges' and sheriffs's homes and threaten them with violence unless they signed agreements, burning and driving out non-Mormons while stealing their land and property and stating that God intended for them to inherit the land owned by others created heavy anti-Mormon sentiment as they moved from county to county. The order gave authorization for the state militia to prevent further violence and prevent insurrection against the state, which Mormons were guilty of.
