I agree with you on that ticket prices are going to start to decrease

No way no how on the tickets, at least at schools that are big time (so not talkign about the boston college's of the world). I would think it'd be like you said since TV and home viewing is so convenient, but there's always someone out there that'll pay. UGA went from almost the cheapest to almost the most expensive as far as all-in cost (donation + ticket) in a span of 2 years, and I assure you demand isn't going down. Sure being good has something to do with it, but the way ADs are these days I simply can't imagine a school saying "guess what, our ticket are going to be cheaper next season!"

I do agree abotu concessions...after the data pulled from Atlanta's new stadium and their fan friendly pricing I think you'll see that trend spread, hope so anyway.

I would RATHER be at the game live, but driving 700 miles (one way), paying for 4 tickets, and paying for a hotel makes me have to take out a second mortgage on my house every year......

I'm in a similar boat with 4 tickets needed for the family. The only difference is I'm only two hours away so the hotel isn't an issue. That's another thing, with the limited hotels around most SEC schools, fans are looking at almost $1,000 for a hotel once the rates get jacked up and there is a two night minimum. If I lived as far away as you do, no way I would do it.

Ole Miss can afford to make season tickets affordable when it doesn't have to pay a $8.25 million buyout to its former head football coach.

This is where our group sits.. I have to work some weekends so I can't go to some home games and we also get basketball tickets too so 400 is about all I would be willing to pay anyway

I just checked UGA's ticket brochure and they have a summary of season ticket prices for the SEC and indicates UGA was the third lowest average season ticket price in the SEC behind Kentucky and Vandy.

quote:

Georgia Bulldogs 2018 Football Ticket Fact Sheet

For the 2018 football season, the UGA Athletic Association will move to a variable season ticket pricing model. The total price for a seven-game season football ticket package will be $465, with an average price of $66.42 per game for season ticket holders. The per-game season ticket prices for 2018 will be divided into two tiers: Tier 1 games ($75 per ticket for season ticket holders) will include home games against Power Five opponents; and Tier
2 games ($55 per ticket for season ticket holders) will include home games against non-Power Five opponents.

The UGA Athletic Association is committed to making the necessary investments in personnel, facilities and support resources that will maintain a championship-level football program and a comprehensive athletic program that is nationally competitive.

Because the football program generates the majority of revenue that funds the overall departmental finances, this adjustment will also enable the UGA Athletic Association to continue to invest in the talent, facilities and resources needed to support championship-level programs across all 21 sports.

Single-Game Tickets
Georgia typically sells out its designated season tickets on an annual basis. Single-game tickets may be available based upon varying visiting team ticket allotments or returned tickets from those allotments. Pricing for single-game tickets is based on opponent and availability.

Market Analysis
For several years, the UGA Athletic Association has benchmarked itself against other SEC schools, past College Football Playoff participants and other national powers, to evaluate various football ticketing models and determine the best way to generate revenue to support the needs of all its athletic programs. Even with these adjustments, when compared to 2017 numbers from those institutions, the cost per home game will remain in line with UGA’s peers.

The UGA Athletic Association weighed these findings against the ongoing commitment to providing the best value and most meaningful experiences for dedicated Bulldog fans. Some key findings:

• Historically, Georgia has been in the bottom third of the conference —as well as near the bottom nationally vs. peer institutions — in per game season ticket price.

• Many conference and peer institutions utilize a variable pricing model when setting the per game price.

• Many schools charge a premium for higher-demand seats above the base season-ticket price, which is not being recommended at this time.

• Secondary market data shows that demand for Georgia football tickets far exceeds the face value of the ticket. Last season, the average price on StubHub was $113.43 per game.

Edit with 2018 donation requirement:

I'm not at a computer anymor but can elaborate later on those facts being bullshite.

Btw those are not "all in" costs and don't factor donations.

One other thing I don’t think has been mentioned, the tax law change where 80% of your donation is no longer going to be able to be used as a deduction is also forcing schools to rethink their pricing models.

Is it white people you hate, or do you just prefer the rectums of another race?

As for the "don't tell me, tell your AD" claim, I was simply telling you what you posted (and teh school reported) is misleading. And funny you say that, because someone DID tell the AD LINK

I'm not gonna summarize it all, just read it yourself. The numbers put out by our AD were extremely misleading, and UGA actually was the highest per ticket per game cost in the SEC. And that was before the ticket increase for '18.

Also, this is breaking it down to the per ticket, per game cost to attend for the season. This doesn't take into account that you have to meet a minimum cumulative lifetime total to even have the opportunity to buy. So basically John Q Fan off the street can't just pay these minimums and get season tickets this year.

Sure about that?

School / Min ticket price /Min donation / Per ticket price with donation

Georgia / $300 / $275 / $95.83
Auburn / $475 / $100 / $82.14

quote:

DawgNation was able to independently confirm Phillips’ information from several schools, including Florida, Auburn and Alabama. No schools that were contacted disputed Phillips’ figures.

Note this was before our '18 price increase as well.

The quality and size of the TVs today make the game experience as good as a skybox. Throw in a Beach, Lake or skyline backdrop, and you have a combination that will be more appealing to many.
I sold my Starkville location. Big screen in the outdoor kitchen next to the pool makes it difficult to leave. Plus, I had already given up my season tickets for football and baseball. It just wasn't as much fun as it once was. I understand why people still do it and I am sure I will miss parts of it but oh well.

According to the double stat major who called around and put the reserach together, yes in 2017. She showed a $420 cheapest ticket package for UT with zero donation needed. No clue if she's right but it seems to be backed up by the AJC that did fact checking on it.

You used Auburn's donation that is for about a total of 50 seats in the stadium that doesnt include all the games. Auburn's donation is $280

So

UGA $300 / $275 / (7 games) $82.14 game not sure how you got 95.83 I did not verify UGAs rates on season tickets or donation, used your info
AU $475 / $280 / (7 games) $107.86
