Has anyone here ever been to the Simmons-Wright General Store? Just inside the Mississippi line on US11/80 near the Alabama border. Right off 59-20 not too far from Meridian.

My wife and I lived about 3 miles from the old Sautee store from 2010-2012...that store is a microcosm of the entire area there in Sautee, Ga. Heaven.

Taylor grocery has the best fried catfish I’ve ever had. They also let you tailgate in the parking lot cause the wait is usually hour+

What a shitty looking burger. Would be a crime if that cost more than $2

LINK

Nominating Shelby Forest General Store.

The best burger you will find in the Memphis Area.

This place is a short drive from Shelby Forest WMA.

I moved to Memphis last year and found a little wood duck honey hole. Hunted it quite a bit last winter and would stop in around 9-10am after a hunt and get a sausage biscuit and black coffee.

They also carry a huge variety of Backermann's canned good.

Is Olgers still around in Sutherland Springs, Virginia? Been a long time since I was that way and enjoyed visiting there.

My Grandpa owned one in downtown DeQuincy, La. until he retired and closed it in the 1980’s. I used to get a Hot Wheels car whenever I went to visit. It was a pharmacy/general store.
Wish I had a picture. I used to love playing with the old cash register

Found some:
Inside

Outside (notice it also had a Borden Ice Cream part inside)

Williams Brothers general store in Philadelphia MS opened in 1907. We are known for our slab bacon and hoop cheese. It’s an old time slab bacon, we slice it right here.

Sid Williams, 3rd generation part owner and operator shares, “Well, it’s a general merchandise store and running on the same principals it was started on by Amzie and Brown in 1907 ”
Sid’s sister, Olivia Manning is mother to football stars Eli and Peyton and is one of the owners of the general store.

The one I remember the most as a young tot was one in Duck Hill, MS. Nothing like going deer hunting and swinging by before or after when coming/going to the deer stand and getting a glass bottle coke and a candy bar.

There was also one in Fountain Hill, AR that we used to hit up a lot. Those old general stores bring back a slew of good memories.
