Hey, I LITERALLY told them back when I had a TexAgs account, and the thread gets bumped periodically.

I told them to get in the SEC with A&M or they would wander in the wilderness forever.

You should have seen the responses.

It seems you have some old posts that aged like a fine wine. You need to bump it and enjoy.

Bama already had Texas scheduled for '22 and '23... now it's just a question of whether they'll still be OOC games or conference games.

It’s smart to do it this way.

If they just came out and said “yeah we will pay the buy out” then they have no negotiating power.

Instead, they said “your conference is imploding in 4 years, good luck”.

Suddenly they have buy out negotiation leverage.

I still wouldn't call a state school elite when it comes to academics

That’s a pretty myopic statement.

State schools admit and educate plenty of pedestrian and marginal students. They also, though, have their share of elite and accomplished students and faculty. Not all public schools, but when A&M and Texas both have engineering schools that are highly ranked (with some disciplines being in the very best), as well as (in the case of Texas) a business school that is (again) highly ranked in general (and #1 in Accounting), it’s fair to label them “elite”.

These are the examples I cite because I am familiar with them. BSME from A&M and MBA from Texas. I’m sure there are other programs with similar credentials at these and other public schools, like Berkeley, Michigan, UCLA, etc.

What is your measure of the word?

We're only allowing the top 6% of in state applicants currently. Where as A&M has made admissions easier in that same time frame.

Alright aTm, that gives you a few years to start planning your covert false flag operations against your enemy. Do not disappoint.

few years? Just wait until the conference lawyers get involved to try to get Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC by January.

F@ck Sankey the Yankee and the SEC Sellouts.

Roy Kramer, and maybe Slive(?), were better than this?

We can never sling mud at former BIG Delaney again..

The SEC has now become a true cold blooded Conference and National Landscape Killer.

Not true. You only auto admit the top 6%

We can all cherry pick where the rankings are coming from... I don't think many people would confuse tu for Vandy. And certainly any ranking that's got Urbana Champaign that close to Vandy I'd have second thoughts on.

Not that I love US News, but they've probably got Austin in a more reasonable spot on the list, behind Florida and UNC, and just ahead of UGA. LINK

And when you go to a state school and go through their engineering program, you know that they are not elite.

I realize people like to pretend their schools are academic power houses. Big 10 does it regularly. I went to UK, but I would never pretend it's a pillar of academic achievement even though we created a carbon fiber material that you can wrap concrete in that increases its compressive strength an astronomical amount.

Yes there are smart students at state schools. But it's still a state school that Jim Bob with his 2.5 high school GPA can get in and get a piece of paper that's just as good as the kid with a 4.0.

This is exactly why they picked Mizzou and Texas A&M in 2012 the TV markets and a underachieving programs (Pinkle owned A&M)..SEC treated us with respect unlike the BiG dud and it drove OU and Texas nuts..please please can we join the party lol
