I still wouldn't call a state school elite when it comes to academics

UCLA, Cal-Berkeley, MeatChicken, UVA, UNC, Georgia Tech all say hi.

So basically 3 full Academic Years before any changes.

Nope, now that this is official, every other BIG12 team is making contacts with other leagues about landing in a new league.

TCU and Baylor, both religiously affiliated schools are not getting in the PAC12. The ACC would not oppose them on those grounds, they have Wake Forest (Southern Baptist) and Boston College (Catholic_Jesuit) now. Notre Dame, also Catholic institution plays in the ACC in all sports but Football. So Baylor I think would fit in with the ACC (another Baptist school already in the league with Wake) but does the ACC think Baylor would increase their TV $$$$. That I don't know as I don't know how much Baylor contributes to the Big12 TV deal now.

TCU I think gets left out, they should look to go to the AAC.

Texas Tech and OK. State and K.State might get into the PAC12, they have 3 schools that have Carnegie Tier 1 Research status (minimum for their league) but not AAU Research Designation (WSU, OSU, ASU). That could be a possibility for them. KU and Iowa State have the AAU designation but I don't know if they add enough football TV $$$ to the B1G.

WVU would be in the ACC yesterday if they took them.

So I see all the other 8 schools looking for a landing spot and I think OU and Texas are in the SEC no later than 2023, maybe 2022.

Yes there are smart students at state schools. But it's still a state school that Jim Bob with his 2.5 high school GPA can get in and get a piece of paper that's just as good as the kid with a 4.0.

What do you mean by elite?
Where would you rank College of The Holy Cross and Cornell University?

It's hard to find that TexAgs thread with a banned account.

It's on the Old Rivalries board.

They will bump it eventually.

It seems you have some old posts that aged like a fine wine. You need to bump it and enjoy.

I am trying to find it. The last bump was probably 4 or 5 years ago.

So looking over the joint letter that Tu & OU sent to the SEC, is it any wonder that TU is listed first in every instance on the letter, and OU is followed behind? Coincidence?

If you have a TexAgs account, you can bump it, but check out the comedy gold from our soon-to-be new residents:

Its pretty simple sips. You will do exactly what we tell you to do. - 99 Luftballoons Ag (KaiserSoze99 on tRant)

A link to that thread should be a sticky note at the top of tRant until they have actually been in the conference for a year.

The OU letter is just inverse version of ours.

We're only allowing the top 6% of in state applicants currently. Where as A&M has made admissions easier in that same time frame.

What does this have to do with my post?

I don’t dispute that A&M has opened the flood gates in order to build enrollment, and I’m not a fan. I just don’t see what this has to do with my post.

Well, damn. Thanks for spoiling my poor excuse for a joke. Oh well, I guess it was pretty lame attempt on my part anyways.

IF they join, both Texas and Oklahoma would win an SEC Championship before aTm ever does.

Silly mentality. No different than an Emory where a Chad or Clarisse can go with their 2.5 HS GPA and mommy/daddy's money and get a piece of paper as well... Outside of a pretty small handful of schools, the same could be said about most of them.

See. I told y'all in 2010 that t.u. should join us in moving to the SEC. It took a full decade to convince you.

I wanted Texas in the SEC in 2010, was pissed that they turned their noses up at SEC academics and claimed that their peers were Cal, UCLA, USC. Pac 12 + LHN was completely moronic. Zero vision.

Not denying that, but it's almost universally recognized as tRankings.
