I will also add this about Butch Jones. He has quite possibly the greatest gig in the world right now.
UT pays him $2.5 million per year to be an INTERN at Alabama until sometime in 2021. He watches a couple of tapes of game film a day, looking for a tendency he thinks Tua and the receivers can exploit (how hard is that?). He doesn't recruit. He's home every night with his wife. Zero pressure. $2.5 million salary for doing a graduate assistant's job, and he's got an SEC and NC ring to show off to recruits whenever he decides he wants to be a real coach again.
Life is pretty sweet for that guy right now.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this report comes out a few days after Mack Brown almost knocked off Clemson. Fulmer was probably watching the game and thinking “If Mack can do it, why can’t I?”

Phat Phil is a dirty old man . He wants to coach again and will try to destroy anyone in his way. Look how he treated Johnny Majors and the previous coaching search. He doesn’t want UT to be successful unless it’s him leading the team

You reap what you sow. Fulmer struck a deal with devil in 92, stabbed Majors in the back for the head job, won many games, reached the top in 98, started losing games in the 2000's, getting fired in 08. It would certainly be hilarious seeing him as the HC again eventually getting fired a 2nd time.
