I definitely think there is no stadium I would rather have than the new Alex Box. I like UT's park too though. IMO 1. Alex Box 2. UT's 3. Box, and there's a pretty big drop off after those 3. I'm a fan of the modern look which probably affected my opinion differently. The only game I went to in Baum was the high school senior all-star game though, and the field was absolute crap that day (the infield was patchy and horrid) and that also might have influenced my opinion

Why double stack? Wrap around seats with normal chairback seating below. If u double stack you would have no cover for the new chaibacks that are wrapping around as well.

It needs to all look uniform.

well most people sitting in a suite would rather be behind homeplate than in right field. thats why double stack.

They kill the grass after our home season. I would also bet there were not 8900 in the chairbacks and over 1k in the Hog Pen drinking and grilling at a high school game, no?

Turner Field has boxes out in right field.

Nah, there's a wait list now for the new ones going up. The baseball expansion will be the easiest outside of football expansion to sell suites.

Not sure you understood my point. I don't doubt they'll sell but the sight lines are much worse. To me it makes less sense to build a suite in right field than behind home plate.

LSU just allocated their money elsewhere. They built the grandest (in my opinion) entrance and backstop in all of college baseball by a longshot. Correct me if im wrong but South Carolina doesnt even enter from home plate.

So they cut corners in the bleacher instead of chairback angle. I dont think they cut corners with the ads in the outfield. I believe that was always part of the plan just like it was at the old box.

South Carolina enters from roughly center field. You walk in and see the trophy case with the two National Championship trophies.

USC also has the wrap around concourse. The concession areas are all on one open level, so you can watch the game from the concession area.

USC did not put their money in making their ballpark look like a grand edifice. The playing field is sunken into the ground, so from outside the ballpark does not look all that big. The money went into quality: chairback seats with cupholders everywhere (except the left field bleachers about the mini-green monster); nice brickwork; upscale offices, lounges, weight room and batting cages.

Back in 2003, Plainsman Park was actually voted the top college park in the country by Baseball America. LINK

I'm not saying I had high expectations for the game, I'm just saying that seeing the stadium in such a poor state probably affected my opinion

Oh LSU has all that stuff too minus the chairbacks throughout. But when you walk up on the box you are like yeah this is legit. Love our entrance.

These have been posted a million times but I can't wait for it to get started. Mainly the new CF entrance because it's so bare back there right now, the pond looks like shite and there's a field where people park, about it. The new Hog Pen will be sick.

Am I not allowed to have an opinion? I said LSU fans have a right to disagree with me. I'm just biased when it comes to our stadium.

Because its legit. And to the guy that would put Ole Miss above us? Please. That's just asinine. At least my opinion can be argued.

4 pages and not a single intimidator pic in a baseball stadium Thread. Is this a record?

Can we have a mini-intimidator?

With back to back titles I think SC has earned it

We might not stack up with LSU, but we've surpassed everyone else. And that's something to be proud of.
