re: Of the 4 SEC additions this century A&M is really the only good one

I joined tRant during the initial influx prior to the first season.

We were gifted Petrino and the motorcycle, the meme wars of Cuppy and I forgot who was doing the Ags, and maybe the wildest reign of a division in CFB of the SEC Weat.

Plenty of mocking back in 2012, being the newb and a first game SEC loss to Gata. But then JFF started doing his thing, and he beat Bama in T Town.

At that point the jars were full, Sumlin had a swag copter, and the team ran through everyone but LSU the rest of the way. Arky was a mess, State was in a bad way, Auburn was way down and Ole Miss didn’t have the offense yet.

We were cocky as hell and gave as good as we got here.

Those of us who have stayed on tRant have greatly mellowed and don’t shite post for shite posting sake.

Are we acting like A&M wasn’t an out away from a baseball NC?

Almost doesn’t count except in horseshoes and hand grenades, but let’s not act like there’s been 0 success.

All I said 2-3 years ago when it was announced. Don’t even really need to tell the SEC schools Texas is not a fit bc they will see it in person when the games start.

Texas never has wanted to be here. Just keep kicking their arse and my guess is the will jump to the Big 10 in under 5-10 years.

Newsflash, but Mizzou is not a combination of Cal-Berkely and the North Pole, which is the narrative of some posters here.

Come to Columbia once in your life, and you will love it.

The SEC is the only major conference left that makes any kind of geographic sense. To keep up, the other conferences have been adding schools all over the country. So, actually all 4 have been a tremendous success. The SEC would have had to add someone else, maybe a school on the West Coast for example.

That being said, lets kick out Texas.

I’d like to keep the SEC as it is without Texas, Missouri and OU. If we absolutely needed to replace those I’d take WVU, FSU, and Clemson over those 3 in a heartbeat. shite, Virginia Tech might even be a better addition than OU or Texas.

To be honest I expected Texas to be more of a cultural fit when it was announced, that slowly changed as more of you started posting here, and after last night it’s just not a good fit. It’s not just about the crowd throwing trash or the football team being trash, it’s the whole picture.

And it wasn’t a good look coming onto the board posting here and acting like you owned the place. Hopefully last night brought the fans down to earth a little bit because UGA isn’t anywhere near dominant this year, and this will not be your only loss. Just remember: your team flopped in the first legitimate SEC game you’ve played since joining the conference.

You’re in our house now, better get used to it…
