Look at Florida state, it’s hard to imagine anyone’s has changed that much more than ours as bad as we’ve been

Not being facetious, but realistically what/who stands in the way of an eventual LSU CWS win? Barring injury of course, LSU should realistically beat every other opponent.

(Preface: I do not understand much in the world of baseball, and I do see LSU is the overwhelming favorite. I’m hoping for some technical reasons why they could possibly lose.)

That being said I hope they bring a championship back to LSU!

Because it's baseball. Look at ole miss last year. You could have made a shite ton of money betting off these odds early in the season with them.

All it takes is one more loss on a weekend than you have already been doing. 2021 Arkansas only lost one series. LSU can be beat and is not the only talented team.

You sound very 2022 UTesque in this post. How did that work out for them? Odds dont mean shite. Its all about getting hot at the right time.

Assuming you’re not trolling, baseball isn’t a sport of direct physicality like football and thus is much more susceptible to teams getting hot/cold or the ball doing weird or fluky things that can boost or derail a teams title chances in a tournament with such a small sample size.

Think of it more like golf. Yes LSU is the best team and thus has the best singular odds, but in any given tournament would you bet on the golfer with the best odds to win, or take the field?

This make sense.

I keep hearing LSU has been through a tough SOS thus far, and the back half should be easier. I’ve seen a few games where hitting/pitching just wasn’t clicking (early in the season vs Iowa; last game against Tennessee) and others that because of the run rule was cut short.

I’m guessing that’s what makes baseball fun as a sport (unpredictably). I just didn’t know if loses were coaching/fielding/batting/pitching issue.

*and to comment to others, I genuinely do not know much about baseball. It’s not really something that interested me, but I support all university athletics in general. Just really became interested because of ranking*

A couple off nights in Omaha. It’s extremely difficult to win a CWS, even when you are the best team in the country.

2021 Arkansas and 2022 Tennessee would like a word with you.

You left out Vandy which is the best play right now at $100 to win $1,400.

For 1, the best team doesn’t always win in baseball because the cws is so hard to win. LSU is very talented but our pitching staff has some real questions at the moment. Some due to injury and some due to a few unexpected struggles from Floyd and Hurd. Do i think LSU is the best team in the country? Yes but there’s not a huge gap at all. There’s a lot of very talented team in the sec and some outside. Florida, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, arkansas (even with the injuries), and wake forest are all talented and well coached. Any of those teams, in addition to some more, could take down LSU at any point. Long ways to go in the season
