Petry got the best of Skenes in a big way in the first.

Skenes got him back in the 3rd with a four pitch swing and a miss strikeout.

On a side note, no wonder the rant is a hellhole during games if that question is coming from the average fan.

LSU has an incredible lineup offensively that will make them a hard "out," but the rotation and bullpen have really caught tough breaks in terms of injuries. So pitching depth unfortunately is a big question mark that will need to be resolved with unproven pitchers stepping up between now and June. Stated another way, our Saturday starter should really be a Sunday starter on a team of this caliber, and he can be fairly erratic, which is a pretty big vulnerability and thus tests the rest of our staff. We just don't have the staff to relentlessly mow teams down.

“Realistically what/who stands in the way of an eventual CWS win?”

Isn't LSU currently sixth in the SEC?

Well, now you’ve done it. Mark this post & blame BayouBengal21 for jinxing the season.

Omaha can be such a grind. Hell, the regionals and supers always are. Some teams I think just show up dead legged.

(Preface: I do not understand much in the world of baseball, and I do see LSU is the overwhelming favorite. I’m hoping for some technical reasons why they could possibly lose.)

That being said I hope they bring a championship back to LSU!

I mean...your own injuries, your pitching. In the old days of the CWS title game being one game youd have to think LSU is the favorite. That said, youre struggling to sweep teams. LSU is damn good, but so are 5 other SEC teams, one of which split with you. Its a long season and its baseball.

* I still think UT is a dangerous team if they peak at the right time

Lack of pitching due to injuries or simply having two bad offensive games.

The further away from 0 either + or - indicates the bigger swing, ie -1,000 means you need to bet $1,000 to win $100 right?

If so, why are campbell and Kentucky the two biggest favorites to make the CWS?

They’re very good, but I would be concerned about the lack of “been there, done that” with them. With the exception of the occasional Coastal Carolina or Fresno State, the eventual champion is almost always a team that has advanced postseason experience, if not Omaha experience then at least Super Regionals. Ole Miss last year wasn’t an Omaha regular but that group had been in multiple Super Regional Game 3’s.

It sure was. Too bad you can't file a claim for what Vegas stole from you.
