It was a money laundering scheme between two very crooked business men. One of whom is a players father.
Look into the story, the men implicated are huge pieces of shite and deserve everything they get. It was not a recruiting scandal though
He was also paid after Alexander was in school if I remember correctly.

Won’t excuse what he did but compare how much was raised for the Children’s hospital before he got there compared to how much went to the Hospital after he got there. So no, he wasn’t removing money that would have gone to the hospital.

If LSU was playing player's families why were the families then kicking money back to Funes?
Also, you have to ask, why would LSU pay an average right tackle and a quarterback who'd already retired from the NFL years earlier?
