Notre Dame to the SEC. All sports including football. Let’s do it
Just to piss off the whorns and the toothless illiterate cajuns and gumps
It would be hilarious watching ND take their pick of players each year from the new orleans catholic schools
Lol at the constant dick measuring contests between whorn , gump and Irish
Yall are so scared

Not at all.
The south is booming with hispanic catholics and now and especially the next several decades rich hispanic Catholics will be their target demographic from a broader university level
Notre dame alums care most about football and winning. They are a passionate fanbase. SEC is the best football conference. We have the most passionate fans and atmospheres. Plus the best recruiting turf which was what that whole ND independence thing was about
Rural indiana and most of their t-shirt fans are just as redneck as SEC fans
The snooty pretentious ND fan sect will fit right in with Texas, Vandy, Florida and eventually UNC and Virginia/Duke ACC alums that are added once the ACC goes tits up

an arrangement could be made for 4 SEC games for ND in a season. ND could join the Big East
This makes the most sense for now. ND just needs a few guaranteed football games
The Big East is in a really interesting spot. Great conference. It would be ironic if they ended up as a winner at the end of realignment.
It’s already the 5th best basketball conference and there’s a big gap to 6th best (some years better than certain P4’s). When the ACC blows up you will have multiple ACC schools that the B1G, SEC and B12 do not want. Syracuse, Boston College, Wake Forest etc. It might be best for those schools to join the Big East and go independent in football exactly like UCONN. Just give up on football and use the football revenue generating power to fuel your non-football NIL

Ever been to Indiana outside of Indianapolis? Indy is as hick as any SEC state. They talk with a twang and love racing and making a lot of farm equipment.
Yeah that's my thought. Rural America is rural America. Wouldn't be an insane cultural fit, but football only is a non-starter I'd assume.

I think people forget Notre Dame is in Indiana. Not Pennsylvania or Ohio.

not a snowballs chance in hell that note lame joins the best conference in football... but if they did, it would be entertaining to watch them get their shite pushed in week after week against real competition

God damn, two entitled teams in the same conference…
It would be a total shite show.

Texas and ND in the same conference? Thats a lot of ego in one conference.

ND fans aren't all Catholics and they sure as hell aren't "rural Indiana" types. They are Midwestern and Northeastern Catholics and well do to Catholics or Irish Catholics or Italian/French Catholics. Chicago is their base but they have a heavy presence in places like Boston. I don't know that I have ever met a Hispanic ND fan, I'm sure they exist but that's definitely not their main demo. They are an elitist school that is upper crust.
I'm sure they could succeed in the SEC but it would be a very awkward fit, USC is probably a closer cultural match.

South Bend brought you the phag mayor Pete. Nothing southern about it

Could you imagine beating ND on the reg?!!
This is why it wouldn't bother me.
Joining the SEC for football would destroy Notre Dame football, as their fans have known it, forever.
And that would be a good thing.

Keep them out. Let them wither away due to their own ignorance.

If Sankey agrees to something stupid like a scheduling agreement with ND similar to what the ACC has, Sankey needs to be fired. Screw ND. I do not want them in the SEC but if they are going to associate with the SEC, it better be full members in all sports.

Notre Dame would be an awful fit. I know they have football history, but that's about it

Hopefully, the conversation went something like this...

Posted on 12/10/25 at 7:32 am to hawgfaninc
ND isn't looking to join a conference in football. They want to join as a partial member and just a scheduling agreement in football. Since the SEC doesn't do partial memberships, I don't see any deal being made.

Note Dame in talks with the SEC?
Will. Never. Happen. This is nothing more than ND attempting to leverage their lost clout. It's all just wind and noise. ND has been the "Golden Child" since the inception of college football. A little bit of that has slipped away and they are acting the part of petulant child.
