I get annoyed with any bastardization of a team or individuals name. Calling Chizik Cheese Dick, or Saban Satan annoys me. It immediately makes me discount anything that person says.

Primary reason I prefer the term "sips" to "t.u." when referring to texas. Guess I prefer pejoratives with a little more depth

Damn, son. You must not have more than 1 or 2 meaningful conversations a year then.

I agree and I'm the same way.
Also, if you bark at me like poor misguided UGA fan in Athens last year, I will think you're a nut.

Again, for clarification sake, I grew up an Alabama fan, graduated from Alabama, and then got my masters from Tulane.
The Tulane moniker is just for fun and it seems to get a little rise from the LSU fans.

Exactly. Put in a little effort to be clever. Calling Ole Miss Ole Piss is dumb.

This thread was even more fun than I expected. Learned a few nicknames along the way.
Agree about the "boogs" - that's the whole reason I put it number 1. It is both juvenile AND has nothing specific to do with auburn. A good nickname should make you think of the fanbase stereotype.
And yes, corndogs make a lot of us think of Louisiana, carnivals, LSU fans, New Orleans, etc...namely, many of the stereotypes of the fanbase. That's why it's funny.

How do you like the name "Crimson Neck"? Makes sense, goes with your team's name, and i would assume is offensive

If you immediately dismiss anyone using a bastardization of the teams mascot or name, you must not have many meaningfu... ah frick it.

I guess so. It doesn't seem to get a rise out of me, though...presumably because any SEC fan calling us "rednecks" is rather ridiculous. Maybe Florida or Missouri can tease us about culture and income, but forgive me if Lousiana, Mississippi, Texas, etc don't make me feel culturally inferior.

OM dress up =/= LSU dress up, obviously. Y'all dress like tools and we dress to have fun. Looking forward to the party this year BTW.

Louisiana has dozens of festivals held every year all across the state - from the French Quarter Festival to Jazz Fest to the Mandeville Seafood Festival to Oktoberfest to Celebration in the Oaks to many many others (shown in link).
Not one of them is in honor of corndogs.
And if you honestly "thought" of corndogs as being associated with Louisiana - especially before your Auburn bretheren fabricated this from Iowa and Nebraska message boards, then you have even less gray matter than I thought.
Yes, it is funny, we're all laughing at you...
