That's the problem with ribbing the LSU fanbase. Most of the things regular people are ashamed of, (drunkeness, eating weird foods, unintelligible speech, illiteracy), LSU fans seem to be proud of.

Spoken like a true Greenie Weenie.
Drunkenness- a voluntary consumption of alcohol, often in celebration. Weenies ain't got much to celebrate.

Eating weird foods- traditional historical cuisine of the area; it's only weird if you're not from around here. Quit being a WASP, or go back to Jersey.

Unintelligible speech- See my above answer; the Cajun culture is not derived from the Brits, it's from the French and Spanish. The world includes more than your narrow view

Illiteracy- elitism from an outsider mocking the locals. Again, go back to Jersey.

There, see? Quick little exchange between a Tulane and an LSU fan, and both have logical points and stereotypes to build on. Corndogs, not so much

BTW, one of my brothers got his doctorate from Tulane. It's not a terrible place.

The very first nickname I listed was an auburn nickname. Idiot

I have never heard of anyone using "boogs" as a nickname for auburn. That could be a nickname for anything.

As a Texan I really enjoy hearing someone from Alabama lecturing on culture.

for real?

It's used all the time. Boogs, Boogers, Awbarn, The Barn, A*burn...

I think all the "nicknames" are stupid, and you won't ever see me type them or say them out loud.

7. "Sips". I understand why an Aggie would find this distasteful, but it just reinforces the stereotype of A&M being the unwashed and UT being more cultured.

This is already been sort of covered, but I will put it another way. This is really calling them a bunch of gutless pussies, which is still true today.

I have heard all the other ones just not boogs, other than on message boards. Never heard anyone say that in person. I still didnt know it was an insult to Auburn either, how could you know it was specifically for Auburn? The others make sense not boogs.

I think it sounds stupid when other UF fans call FSU the clowns. UGay and UToof are dumb too.

Well, when someone quotes my name in a post and puts either boog, or booger, it's a pretty damn good realization that they're talking about me.

Lol at all the LSU fans hate being called corndogs.
I don't think its bad at all. Just prevents other teams from making a name that actually pisses me off.

Being called a food is a lot better than being called Updykes fwiw.

Right but how to you affiliate that with Auburn? That could be he just calling you a boog personally. Barners is a good one. But boogs? Makes no sense. I am still going to think the way I did before about it.

No idea. Probably started at BOL if I had to take a guess. And I doubt he was personally calling me one, he referred to ALL auburn fans as boogs.

well, despite posting here, I'm not enough of a messageboard guy to get it. What's it supposed to mean, and why does it insult me as a Tiger fan? Because of our tailgating or something? Serious, no clue here

It doesn't make a lot of sense but I will attempt to explain how it evolved. The corndog along with the funnel cake are the staple foods of all fairs and carnivals. Pre-corndog Auburn fans referred to LSU fans as carnies due to the attire worn by the fans and the atmosphere of their gameday. It was either funnel cakes or corndogs so whoever took the original about Nebraska or Iowa decided on corndogs. The rest is message board history.
