I like this explanation.
1) LSU's colors + the stupid shite they wear makes them look like carnies.
2) Instead of just calling them carney folk, Auburn fans looked to call them something associated with carney folk. (i.e. small hands, poor hygiene, illiteracy) - all which fit with LSU people.
3) They ended up just picking an easy one. "They smell like corndogs". Since, as you know, carnies sell corndogs at the carnival.
Take Away: Since LSU fans look and act like carnies. And carnivals smell like corndogs. LSU fans subsequently smell like corndogs. Simple.

That is my favorite part about LSU fans.
When I was in nola for the NC, all the bama fans we wearing jerseys. All of them.
And half the LSU fans were wearing crazy shite. Hell, my brother and his friends wore full on purple and gold suits. They got free shite everywhere.

I would have to say a lot of Auburn fans I know have never heard of that to be an insult, it had to be started on a message board recently or something and believe or not there are people that dont spend time on it. If it made sense, people would probably use it more. Its really stupid because most people wouldnt know who you are insulting.

That's the problem with ribbing the LSU fanbase. Most of the things regular people are ashamed of, (drunkeness, eating weird foods, unintelligible speech, illiteracy), LSU fans seem to be proud of.
At least our athletic team members don't:
- MURDER campus police officers (Josh Gimelstob - from New Jersey) who ACTUALLY SAID "It was just a cop"
- CONSPIRE with more nice New Jersey boys to shave points, take falls in games and get your basketball program the DEATH PENALTY (John Williams - speaking of illiteracy)
- GET CONVICTED OF COCAINE TRAFFICKING (Toney Converse)
- GET ARRESTED "TWICE" FOR Burglary (Trent Mackey
Speaking of illiteracy, why do Tulane athletes get placed in "University College" and not the general university population like the rest of the New York and New Jersey Iras, Selmas, Sauls,
Chips, Wellingtons, and other Uppington Smythes from Scarsdale. Hartford, Coral Gables, Lowell, Jersey and other Ivy League rejects ?????????
Is that why their Scantron sheets are just signed with their names (if they can even do that), and Mumsy and Pops just have to send a check to dear old Onelane U ???????????????????

Of course they taste good. They are delicious.

The "corndog" moniker reminds me of the "aggy" nickname our former conference mates thought was such a sick burn but actually made limited sense and wasn't offending at all, just weird
