quote:Saban only complains when he sees things turning out of his favor. He just knows if everyone can pay whatever then he's not going to be able to keep all the top recruits like he's been doing. He can't win bidding wars with different schools for each individual 5*. That means his talent gap over teams will drop. Throw in Emmert leaving and the transfer portal giving all the players he lies to a way out and he has no control anymore.
If you are insinuting your team will be better than Nick Saban's team or recruit better than Nick Saban, you are nuts

When will u dipshites learn that what u perceive as him complaining is actually a warning.

You dipshits will twist whatever he says to mean whatever you want to keep yourselves half sane. Saban doesn't want schools to compete with him. He's not going to come out and complain that it's not fair that smaller schools can't compete with Bama. Or say that Bama shouldn't be able to pay players so much.

"Saban became head coach of Michigan State prior to the 1995 season. Michigan State had not had a winning season since 1990, and the team was sanctioned by the NCAA for recruiting violations that were committed under his predecessor and former mentor, George Perles"
IN THE END:
"The Spartans had an overall record of 10–2 for the 1999 season, after which, Saban left for LSU. It was the most wins for the Spartans in a season since 1965, and the Spartans reached their highest ranking since the 1966 team."
I'm back to'ya...now what?

quote:So one season of 10 wins is winning big ? Saban was just a coach who was better known for having coached under BB at the time. Many coaches have had one good season. He hasn't always won big. He didn't become the Saban we know now until his time at LSU.
I'm back to'ya...now what?

The only way an ultra elite coach like Saban will lose with any consistency is with an unlevel playing field, so why would he NOT want parity?
Well, he surely wasn’t bitching about this before NIL and is full of shite saying he wants parity, when we saw all those number one recruiting classes get him so many championships. Oops, the Aggies go and steal that #1 class with the new rules. And now he wants parity! He can frick off

I got news for you. If it comes down to who has the most number of very wealthy boosters we will all be watching Texas vs USC in the national title game every year, till it kills college football.
Thankfully, it will be regulated and that won't happen.

This guy was possibly the biggest part of what killed parity in college football. Yes, it's going to get worse, but that's only because now every wealthy booster base can get away with what Alabama has been doing for decades.
This is correct.

EVERY coach is just a coach when they start off in the "big time".
Going from taking a team on NCAA probation that hadn't had a winning season in 5 years to a 10-2 team that had their best season in 30 years....in just 4 years??? Are you serious?
"Many coaches have had one good season. Again, are you really serious?
Finally, so you're saying that the Saban at LSU was on the same plane as the Saban now at Alabama?

The parity being talked about is the ability to have an equal opportunity to compete, if you want to! All the D-1 schools could do what the Alabamas, Ohio States, or Oklahomas do, IF they so desired to try. Nobody can MAKE the schools prioritize their athletic programs higher, or MAKE their fans more numerous and supportive, BUT there's nothing stopping them if they want to try.
All you folks out there bitching and moaning about the Alabamas of college sports need to get over it, and do something to improve your own programs...or is it just easier to sit back and make excuses?

NIL is a real game changer for some programs - Texas, Oregon, TAMU, USC, and Miami. Bama should always be competitive but they don’t have the resources and NIL$ to compete with TOTUM long-term…
