When asked about what kind of music he prefers, Saban explained and then went on a tangent about why his generation’s music is better than everyone else’s.

“I have four favorites on a DVD in my car, all right? Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles and Elton John. Now, for all you young’ns — see, one good things about my age is we grew up in a pop culture that no one else will ever have the opportunity to live through, from Elvis Presley all the way through hard rock, Motown, all the way through, soft rock, all that. So I lived all that, so I enjoy all that. And even though my son is 31 years old, he plays guitar. He plays all the stuff (from) when I was going to college. So that’s just proof in the pudding to me that they don’t make them like they used to.

“So I have boat jam, when I go on my boat in the summertime. Music is important, I mean, to me. I love listening to music. Do I listen to music when I work? Not really. But it does create a little bit of a different kind of mindset sometimes, a little bit of a pick me up, which I appreciate.

It doesn't take today's top college coach to tell us that today's music royally sucks. No identity, many samplings from "real" songs, and a general bunch of rap and crap.

I'm trying to think of songs from the 90s or 00s that I still like to hear... can't think of any.

He is wrong!

Clearly the Big Band Era was the best music. Just look at how many kids were born during this time frame.

I think there are brilliant musicians out there currently making music, but there is a lot of new stuff that the kids seem to like that is absolutely horrible.

I have to say that Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang" has finally showed me that music has passed me by.

I'm actually surprised that Saban loves music (or even listens to it). He seems to robotic. It's refreshing to hear.

There are a few today that are legitimately talented and write their own music. In general, though, the very first video played on MTV was a true harbinger. Video killed the radio star.

That, and epically shallow millennials that seem fundamentally incapapable of believing something other than what social media tells them.

80s was the best decade. That shite today ain't music. These idiots don't even write songs anymore. They buy or steal them from others.
