Joke will be on the NCAA when it comes to Bama because we don't have anything of significance to vacate in Basketball. HA!

Yea, not sure how anyone could look at these agent/player dealings and say it is "helping" the school.

Best argument for why AU is somehow in a different boat (along with the other schools with implicated assistants) is that there was some institutional oversight/control issue that went awry.

Although really, with the knowledge that it was all being done to the benefit of a third party, it seems pretty obvious assistants would have incentive to make sure it was not known to other people in the program.

The NCAA has no choice. USC got hammered over Reggie Bush getting benefits from an agent.

Sweet, so we'll just let Quarterman give back his Heisman and all those titles JJ won with him.

Really though, how is it cheating for a private firm to be dumb enough to throw away money on a guy? Didn't make us any better. JJ is gone, we will not be punished in a way that affects the current squad.

Uhhh, you have had 2 players suspended for the whole season as a result of the FBI investigation, that is clean?

Auburn logic.

Auburn wasn't buying players. An Auburn coach was paying them to leave.

bama logic trying to equate the two.

Sure, if the NCAA finds that the institution willfully ignored illegal actions or created an environment where such violations were rampant, expected, encouraged, enabled, or ignored. Otherwise, no.

Is this really a surprise? Agents are providing money but shoe companies are writing the big checks. AAU, which is funded by shoe companies, runs college basketball. When the Nikes and Reebok’s of the world started paying schools to wear their product in the 80’s and 90’s, it went from branding/marketing to a profit center. In other words, shoe companies used players as a means to recoup their investment.

These allegations are serious, but I’m willing to bet my last dollar every major college program has players who received benefits. The NCAA needs to be disbanded, and college athletes need to get paid. Period.

Yeah, I think (or hope) the Sexton thing has already been handled. He sat, they did what they had to do, and was reinstated to play.

Hopefully that is all we see.

if it wasnt the day before it was literally two days before. The point still stands, money was the deciding factor.

Not really. Didn’t Mizzou come in fairly late on him? Should we assume you paid for that privilege?

Final months, yes, not at the very end.

He made it clear early that he wanted to play along side with MPJ, and that was a big deal for him/them

While they played together for USA they talked it over and it really started to become a reality.
