It won't be the same. It will be much, much better. No one likes change, but when the guys you were with get inside the new stadium they will be happy.

It is a little sad that we will only see all the homemade rigs in photographs in the future, but the new outfield is going to be amazing....and intimidating to visiting players.

And the owners will still be able to customize it and make each section unique. Really the only difference is the owners won't be able to build the structure. They will still be able to make it their own.

And the left field lounge was all about creativity. People can still do that

It was the best solution. We couldn't keep it as is

The New Alex Box doesn’t have the same atmosphere as the old one. I could see it happening but I think the new Dudy Noble will have a really good atmosphere still

That's all some people are upset about. The homemade rigs were uniquely our thing and had gave some interesting character to the stadium. I loved it but I also realize the safety hazard it created and this new stadium will be so badass I'm not in the least bit upset over it

The guys that we were watching the game with (state fans) were not happy about the new stadium plans.

Well progress has never been Mississippians strong suit but like they say, winning cures all. Let's just hope that happens.

Very different scenario for UF, can only hope that the new stadium will result in a decent atmosphere.

The old Dudy Noble will hold a lot of nostalgia like Rosenblatt in Omaha does. But like Rosenblatt, the ole Dude had done its time so to speak.
I loved the LFL but I get it that the potential liability issue for the University was a ticking time bomb. It is a miracle that somebody had not died from a fall from one of the Contraptions.

The new stadium is going to be awesome but like anything new, it will take a few years for everyone to get acclimated to it. All the amenities that it will offer along with a great team and the best fans in the country will make it a great ball park. I can’t for 2019 to get here.

Speaking of coaches, We have ourselves a great one in Cannizaro and I think we are in good shape there for the long term future.

Well I think it’ll help Florida as well with the new stadium. I don’t like Florida at all but their baseball team deserves a big fan base. Hopefully more fans will go to baseball games for Florida’s sake

Shhh the big boy programs are talking. Just because your program is of middle of the pack CUSA quality doesn’t mean everyone else has to pretend not to care.

Interesting that UK and MSU have new stadiums going up at the same time for about the same cost yet the State one looks like twice as good. Whoever is building UK's must have much higher profit margins.

I'm pretty confident it will, which will be a great change. They haven't released renderings yet, but I've heard good things. Supposed to be very fan and family friendly. Being designed by Populous, so they certainly have a ton of experience.

They might not have been happy about it but it hadto be done. The LFL as constructed was a nightmare of epic proportions waiting to happen. The fire martial was on the verge of having it all tore down. Those displaced ppl that decided to continue coming to games would have been relegated to sitting in those hot ugly arse high school bleachers. Even if the atmosphere isn't the same and even if some lounge lizards won't come back it doesn't matter, this was happening and had to. I'm just glad it ran its course without someone getting seriously injured or even killed in a collapse

I was curious about this as well as I was looking around at a number of the newer minor league and college stadiums. It's a nice looking project, but the price tag seems awfully high for a stadium of that size.

“Honestly, the stadium they’re building is ridiculous, ... there’s going to be nothing like it in college baseball, I mean they’re building a palace,” Aaron Klotz, director of baseball operations at AstroTurf, said of UK. “For us to be involved in that, we feel very fortunate, very excited to work with Kentucky on this as well.”

The new stadium will feature 2,500 chair-back seats, additional space to accommodate about 4,000 fans for regular-season home games, and the option of temporary seating that could increase capacity to about 7,000 in the event that UK is selected to host NCAA Tournament games. UK broke ground on the stadium in March, and it’s targeted for completion by the fall of next year.

Your link failed

The point was State will be able to hold about double what the new UK one will yet the costs were about the same. UK already owned the land so it means they are paying just for the construction. Bigger issue will be parking as they lose the structure and appear to have no plans to build a new one for the new stadiums (they just built a softball one a few years ago).

Did UK spend $ on the field surface? Maybe they dug out the whole thing and laid drainage systems and sub-layers? State spent that $ a few years ago.
